The best part of the night: seeing all the smiling faces show up for the benefit (many of whom were actually there to donate to a good cause in addition to seeing a great rock show).

The worst part of the night: all the fucksticks ignoring the no smoking signs and lighting up in the nonsmoking areas. I personally told three people to put 'em out.

Our World Pretend was a last minute addition to the line-up but I still thought they were pretty damn entertaining. I'm not usually much for the "brit-pop inspired modern/progressive rock", but these guys were really talented. Their use of feedback was tasteful and effective.

I didn't really care much for Glass Lily and I took a friend to get sushi during the Darling Hearts. I really like Whole Fantastic World and they get better with every show. Laws Rushing is just not my speed, though.

The lack of Features shows lately led to me enjoying their set just a little bit more than usual. The "are you alone song" is sooooo friggin' good. A very nice addition to an already diverse catalogue. As long as this one and Mosis Ptosis make the next album, it'll be a sure hit!
Daigle is all we need to make the night complete

The show was so good. Arcata (as it was spelled on the setlist) was really good, of course. I love it. I love the other new song so much. It's so good. Best song of the night was either Circus or Mosis Ptosis. It was a great show. I really enjoyed Mercy Lounge for The Features.

I can appreciate the other bands I saw. They're just nothing I care to listen to.

I hope lots of funds were made for the family, and I'm glad so many people came and were supportive. smile.gif

But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

i had a good time. my roomate and i took a break from the usual stress of mid semester crisis and decide to go rock out for the cause.

the set was crazy and full of energy and ray davies sweated all over me. it was nice to see some familiar faces and make a few new aquaintences.

i bought some "fuck cancer" buttons......they rock....

although....i would have to say.....Laws Rushing covering "Born to Run" with a few guest appearances was worth the price of admission.....absolutely amazing!!!!
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

fantastic show last night...i enjoyed myself immensely, perhaps even too much. i felt like larry david all night long, which is not a new feeling for me, sadly...in my over-exuberance, i hugged a girl i barely even know, brazenly threw a still-burning cigarette at tlw's feet, said all the wrong sorts of things to all the wrong sorts of people (in the interest of being "affable"), and inadvertently heckled the features, i'm afraid, by requesting rather loudly on several occasions that they play "moonlight"...and i don't think they know how it goes anymore. in retrospect, i'm a little embarrassed, but...oh, well. what does one do? i was really into the show, though, and i must echo the sentiments of others--my favorites of the night were the "are you alone" song, "circus", and "mosis ptosis". my only complaints, besides having my enthusiasm curbed, were the sticky floors and the screeching high-end of the mercy lounge PA. it makes me wonder how muse will sound there...

Matt jumping in the air during "Mosis Ptosis" was simply amazing. Great show.

7 times is all that it takes.

They played it at that Grimey's show in September, I think.

I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

i heard a preliminary number sunday night by someone who helped put on the event; she said she thought it was somewhere between 4 and 5,000. which is amazing.
