It's late, so I'll make this brief. This was one of the best Features shows I've seen. Seriously. I was very pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. The club was quite full, with lots of folks right in front of the stage. And the crowd was one of the more enthusiastic that I've ever seen. The flow of energy between the band and the crowd was great. The sound was actually FANTASTIC - a great mix, with plenty of Parrish. And the Features? They are just so damned "on" these days, it's frightenting. You'll love the new song!

Yes, wonderful show...

It was nice to have met digsy and iwantelvis (again) and ray davies, sexy sadie, and havesomesoma for the first time. I think I saw Jamiecarroll, but I wasn't sure if it was him, and didn't want to make a fool of myself...though I think I accomplished that by going to each of the band members drooling for them to autograph my buffalohead single after the show.

Lots of energy, lots of sound, lots of BASS! Overall it was a really clean show, with some stuff I hadn't heard live yet (psycho killer, new song, etc.) My mom went to the knoxville show with me a few weeks ago, and she commented that the features' songs are really crisp and clean. they start and stop well, and I think the "little" things like that make all the difference. this show was definitely no exception. every instrument was heard, though i still couldn't hear roger's backing vocals. There was lots of singing along at this show...even at the loud fast songs...and you could hear it well!

I bought the thursday single, the buffalohead single, and a button. I'm stockin' up. I talked to matt briefly after the show, and i was glad that he recognized me from knoxville (in a geeky sort of way). He smiled a lot at me and said thanks.

The tribal dancers weren't quite as bad as last time...but i still kept getting bumped into by this hippie girl who had b.o. Poor Digsy...I thought they were going to knock him over and create a domino affect with the mic stands and equipment on the stage...I feared the worst. At least they weren't slinging beer everywhere this time.

Best part of the night (besides the show): walking right past the bouncer into the club without getting "Xed" and without paying a cover.

iwantelvis, i still have your pen...thanks for letting me borrow it

Only one word can describe last night's show: Amazing.

The Features were in prime form last night. The band played a blistering set, full of old favorites that we havent heard in a while (armani suede!!!, psycho killer!!). Every song was amazing....including the new one which i enjoyed very very much, and i hope to hear more of it in the future. Overall, one of the best features shows that I have ever seen. I cannot wait until the boro show tonight.

Tht guys were awesome last night. I was going to post as soon as I got home, but I didn't get here until about 5:15 a.m. But, I'm telling you what...It was worth it.
And, again, it was good seeing you all. I'm glad that I got to conversate with jamiecarroll and deevol especially. I never talk to you guys, so it's always a treat.
As for The Features, they were so damn great last night! I definitely bounced more in that show than any other one before. I needed to see them, and that show was incredible. I hope the show tonight at The Boro is just as good for all of those who didn't get to attend last night. rolleyes.gif

The show was simply amazing, once again. The set list was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed the new song. I hope to hear it again soon. I would have to say that last night's show was one of the best features shows that I've seen. I was very happy to hear Armani Suede. Psycho Killer was great, too.

My sister (also a featues fan) and a friend of her's made the drive from Decatur, GA to see the show and had an excellent time. She had never seen Armani Suede live and was so happy when the band played it.

One of the highlights of the night was seeing Ray Davies' Ian Curtis dance during one of the songs (can't remember which). I had to stop "rocking out" for a little while there because I was dying laughing.

This was my first experience of the flailing, skinny "tribal dancers". They were quite disgusting...and that's all I'm going to say.

They just seem to get better almost every time I see them. My gosh, it was so good. I cannot wait to see them again tonight. Usually after shows for my favorite bands, I go through a depression as soon as the show is over because I know I won't get to see them for a long time. That was not the case last night though. I hope you all enjoyed the show as much as I did.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

i completely agree with what everyone has said. one of the best shows i have seen. the band played excellently and seemed to be very relaxed. and the crowd was definitely into it, even the tribal dancers. the new song was great, though i can only remember that it was upbeat and had the word "intuition" in it alot. i finally picked up the buffalo head and thursday records. and i got to meet bowl of fire. what more could a girl ask for? overall, a great night. and my greatest appreciations to iwantelvis for being brave enough to drive through the hurricane-like rains and freakish fog so that we might all get to see the features. you are the most.

i'm going to invent a new word for amazing........riboflavin!!!!!!!!!! yes the show was very riboflavin!!!!!

i would just like to thank the features for playing two extra songs after it was apparent the show was over.

armani suede never sounded so good!!! after the absence of psycho killer for last 5 months or so i was under the impression they were tired of playing the song....i guess not.

over all stellar outstanding show. the band was unstoppable as usual. hope to see more of the same tonight at the boro.

what did everyone think of the opening band?
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

Great show, the crowd response was great, although, after reading this thread, apparently most of the crowd came from out of town. I think the locals dig it quite a bit too, as I ended up almost 10 feet further from the stage than at the start of the set.

The openers left some to be desired, I thought. they also came very close to breaching the opening band time limit. Maybe they were more on and into it at the first show they played. They did seem to be nice people. I especially enjoyed Joe Dirt on bass.

Back to Features. Awesome to hear a full length set again. The new song, which I will temporarily refer to as "mumbles", because that's what matt said he would be doing for most of it, has excited me the most about a new song in quite some time. I'm glad Parrish was up in the mix, because his choppy keys in that song need to be that prominent.

Good show, unexpectantly pleasing venue, had fun.

I saw them there about a year ago, and it was pretty empty. Good to see them quickly develop a following in yet another city.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I'm finally getting around to posting after FINALLY being awake at home. I must say that I stood my ground against the attention-stealing tribal dancers very well. Yes, I think that I may have had intercourse with the tribal woman during "Kari-Ann", but I put them in their place.

The show was amazing. When Matt forgot one of the lines in "Look Out Below" and just shook his head, shrugged, and smiled, it was great. They looked like they were having an awesome time. It was also very nice to see so many people from the board. Out-of-town support is very nice. I was so happy to hear Armani Suede live...and The Damage is Done. Just...wow.

Well, the boro show starts in a couple hours. Yaaaay!

this show was my first time seeing the features, and it was a fantastic introduction. the club was packed but I managed to get near the front, though my view was often blocked by Amazingly Tall Dude with Big Hair. I had seen the openers Andrea Doria before, they're not bad but are occasionally a bit too "emo" for my taste. I agree that the bassist was the best part. I love that guy. He's the guitarist for another Chattanooga band, Superbuzz, he was just filling in that night. anyway the features were great, I made an idiot of myself by tossing my hair around and air-drumming on a stool, and then like a dork I couldn't find the merchandise table. thanks to Matt for pointing the way! I wanted to hang around and get my single signed as well, but the place was really crowded and I was ready to go. as soon as I got home I played "buffalo head" and stuck my nice new features sticker on the side of my amp. I got a cool button for my guitar strap too. the features are just way too cool to be from tennessee!

Well, this guy had his hair piled up on top of his head in some sort of ponytail. It was pretty scary. But not as bad as the tribal dancer behind me. He thought there was a mosh pit, apparently.
