Well, I suppose I'll take a stab at the daunting task of starting a discussion about a show without the aid of JamieCarroll and her 100% accurate set list. By the way, I hope you get well soon, Ben.
Personally, I had a great time (despite the fact that they didn't honor my obnoxious repeated requests for Someway, Somehow). I'm still not a huge fan of "Chemical Head' or "Love is Golden", but I thought the one slower tempo new song was really great. There was also a new song called Mosis Ptosis (sp?) that I found extremely odd. That one might grow on me.
I won't even attempt the set list, but I can say they started with the Beginning --> Walk You Home and ended the standard set with Thursday. The encore included what to my mind was the most rock'n'roll performance I've ever seen from Mr. Pelham. During Circus, he adjusted the mic stand really low and got down on his knees while he shredded away on his guitar. After lurching around, he came back and bent over to sing into the mic. Very cool. The last two songs were Action and GSRNR. Temporary Blues is still holding strong.
There was definitely an element of danger tonight. Anyone close to the stage knows what I'm talking about, because the entire floor was literally bouncing up and down as if it was going to give way at any minute. This also resulted in a very wobbly PA which seriously looked like it was going to topple at any minute (especially during the high-energy encore). Clearly, Wall Street was just barely able to contain the Features tonight.
Goodnight.
