Well, I suppose I'll take a stab at the daunting task of starting a discussion about a show without the aid of JamieCarroll and her 100% accurate set list. By the way, I hope you get well soon, Ben.

Personally, I had a great time (despite the fact that they didn't honor my obnoxious repeated requests for Someway, Somehow). I'm still not a huge fan of "Chemical Head' or "Love is Golden", but I thought the one slower tempo new song was really great. There was also a new song called Mosis Ptosis (sp?) that I found extremely odd. That one might grow on me.

I won't even attempt the set list, but I can say they started with the Beginning --> Walk You Home and ended the standard set with Thursday. The encore included what to my mind was the most rock'n'roll performance I've ever seen from Mr. Pelham. During Circus, he adjusted the mic stand really low and got down on his knees while he shredded away on his guitar. After lurching around, he came back and bent over to sing into the mic. Very cool. The last two songs were Action and GSRNR. Temporary Blues is still holding strong.

There was definitely an element of danger tonight. Anyone close to the stage knows what I'm talking about, because the entire floor was literally bouncing up and down as if it was going to give way at any minute. This also resulted in a very wobbly PA which seriously looked like it was going to topple at any minute (especially during the high-energy encore). Clearly, Wall Street was just barely able to contain the Features tonight.

Goodnight.

The last time the Features played there, we heard them play the Beatles' "I Feel Fine" and Lennon's "Jealous Guy." I didn't think that it could get any cooler than that...which is part of the reason I didn't go.

I was very afraid the floor was going to cave in. The night could have easily ended in tragedy, and it was kind of scary. But hey, an element of danger is always nice in rock and roll.

I'm pretty sure the set was bootlegged, so an offical tracklisting will be up. As of right now, I can give this...

The Beginning (Week One)
Walk You Home
Leave It All Behind
The Way It's Meant To Be
***Hocus Pocus/Mostest Toastest/Mosis Ptosis*** (New)
Exhibit A
Temporary Blues (!!)
Me & The Skirts
***New Slower Song***
Situation Gone Bad
Love Is Golden
See You Thru
Exorcising Demons
Harder To Ignore
There's A Million Ways To Sing The Blues
Idea Of Growing Old
Thursday

(Encore)
Circus
Action
Chemical Head
Dark Room
God Save Rock & Roll

This is pretty accurate as to what songs were played, just not really in the same order

Great show despite the fact that the venue was a deathtrap in three ways. 1) The floor was just goint to collapse. Really no way around it, if you weren't dancing, then you were getting propelled in the air by the trampoline floor. 2) The speakers stacked next to the stage were going to fall down and crush people. They were. Thanks, Carl, for saving some lives last night. and 3) It was a furnace. I have never seen the band that sweaty ever, especially Matt. Add this to the fact that Matt had a faulty microphone that was shaking along with the venue and going every which way but loose (Matt's hard rocking on "Circus" was really just him coping with that crazy mic). The band definitely overcame these odd situations to provide a wholly rocking set. Amazing, of course.

I was sick with a cold last night so there wasn't all that much willful dancing on my part (the bouncing floor made me jump up and down) but the show was still enjoyable.

I really, really, really liked the new Hocus Pocus/Mostest Toastest/Mosis Ptosis number....it was quite fun, and one of the best songs to dance to all night.

OK, due to some very unfortunate circumstances, I was unable to make the show last night. The set list looks incredible though and this "Hocus Pocus/Mostest Toastest/Mosis Ptosis" song really has me excited. Any way someone could post this on the mp3 site- that way you wouldn't have to buy me a present. . .

the show last night was very fun. i thought we were all going to die together as a big features family, a la great white (replace fire with plummeting through floor). at the beginning of "exhibit a" i was just standing there, but i was still dancing. so the trampoline floor combined with the slip-n-slide floor accounted for the majority of my dancing last night. crazy, crazy venue.

i love the new songs. "mosis ptosis" (i think carl was right on the name) was very odd, but also very very good. i see it becoming one of my favorites (if it makes it to the next show). i seem to remember part of the end chorus being "you can do the mosis ptosis /you're a big girl now /you can do the mosis ptosis / you don't need me to show you how," but i could be wrong. i don't remember the other new one well enough to say anything about it except that i liked it.

The official title of the bootleg should be:

"No One Here Gets Out Alive"

I was lucky enough to be next to the right amp stack. Some bouncer/security dude said, "IT's never fallen over in 3 years."

Grrrrreeeeeattttt.

They also probably haven't had many bands like The Features play there either. And props to the opening band. THey weren't half bad.

I really enjoyed the show last night despite the crazy PA/ floor situation. It was nice hanging out with Ghostflower and discussing art with Powder P. Fun times. smile.gif

I'm not sure if I like the "Mosis Ptosis" song or not. The "you're a big girl now" line makes me cringe.

I send my love to you Mrs. Ben. I was looking for you.

Great Encore.

Hate Wall Street. It was hot with no ventilation so all the smoke just set and soaked into every crevice. EVERY crevice. The sound was okay, but did anyone notice the feedback in like the first six songs? Sounded like birds chirping and was cool for a couple songs, but got old.

The opening band, in my opinion, had one okay song and was obviously a favor\trade-off. But that's just me. The only time I was interested was when the two old guitarists on either side would yell. The drummer played like he was bored, and maybe he was. Most of the people around me were. It was very refreshing to have Rollum come up after his lamo style. I would say they were at least half-bad.

GOod to hang with BrianW, Carligula, Dickard, P, Mrs. Sick, and maybe even Miss September?

I had a great time last night! The floor situation kinda freaked me out a little bit, and also the thought of the speaker crashing right into my head also scared me. Other than though, it was a great show. wink.gif It was also nice talking to everyone and talking to miss september about our love for Billy Corgan. smile.gif

I had lots of fun at the show, in spite of my feelings of certain death. I really like the new song, "Mosis Ptosis" - and I think HaveSomeSoma is right about those lyrics, that's what I heard, too. It was my first time hearing "Love Is Golden" live, and I'm not really sure about it yet. I liked it, but I don't know if it's going to become one of my favorites.

The floor really freaked me out at first, but then it got kind of fun. I mean, you could just stand there and not move a muscle, yet still be moving with the music! Before The Features started their set, this girl was commenting on how sticky the floor was. Once the band started, I realized why. It was so sticky it kept us all from falling over every time the floor lurched! The speakers, on the other hand, terrified me the whole time. I was positive the ones on the right of the audience (which I was pretty close to) were going to come crashing down. The bouncer kept shoving his way through the crowd to hold them up, and then during the encore members of the audiece had to grab them before they toppled. The lack of ventilation was also a huge problem. They turned the fans on during the Features, but by then the room was already too choked with people and smoke to help at all (with both the heat and the smoke).

Actually, before the Features, my friend pointed out that the Great White show was on ground level, with two or more exits. We were all on the second floor (which turned out to be very unstable), with only one way out, and hundreds of people. Very scary. By the time we got there, they already had too many IDs and couldn't hang on to ours.

And I think I remember The Apparitions playing that Vanderbilt show - the 50th anniversary of their radio station - which The Features also played.

Matt Pelham was a total rock star last night. I squealed like a little girl watching him. tongue.gif

The smoke and the heat were reminiscent of 328....you know, before it was torn down. sniff. unsure.gif

I still hate Murfreesboring.

this had to have been one of the most intense shows of the year. i had a great time rocking out with everyone iwantelvis got really drunk and wouldn't stop beating me smile.gif. in all honesty, i wish something crazy like the floor caving in would happen, just as long as no one gets hurt. i also heard the floor at sebastians was alot worse that that. i like the new songs as well. very different yet very feature-esque. oh yeah...and if anyone ever needs someone to walk you home...ray davies will be more than happy to do it!!

Sounds like Sinasugarsick has a protoge!

EnemyRoses-- You MUST be kidding, right?

Sina has a theory that "Mosis Ptosis" is about potty training or some other accomplishment for a child. Makes sense to me.

Yes, I thought the same.

The show was fabulous. It might be my favorite Features show of the year. I really enjoy all the new songs. "Mosis Ptosis" is really nice, and I look forward to hearing it again.

I somehow was oblivious to the whole speakers almost falling over thing until Digsy told me what had just almost happened. The floor went from being extremely sticky before the show to extremely wet after the show. They have some major floor issues, what with the bouncing and stickiness. And, that was the hottest I've been at a Features show, I believe. I prefer Inferno Bar over Wall Street.

Highlights of the night..."Dark Room" (of course) and "Chemical Head". The best Features show I've seen in a while.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?
