It was nice to see 12th & Porter a bit more hopping.  The room sounds great, but usually when the Features play there, the vibe is just so so mellow, with the tables and all.  On this night the tables were still there, but the club was a little more crowded because JMB really does pack 'em in at 12th & P.  Plus it was NYE.  The Features played very very well.  The sound guy actually had Parrish up in the mix for a change, and Matt had really fantastic energy throughout.  There was one song which I don't believe has been played before - it was really nice as well as the 'Stop Making Excuses' one.  Overall, it was a fun night.  I cannot think of a better way to end a year than by seeing the Features.

Good show. The crowd, as usual, was timid.
I would like to go on record as saying that the sound guy was a total dick to me. I was asked by a member of the band, if everything was not loud enough, to please ask the sound guy to turn them up. I felt that Matt's guitar was not loud enough and reacted in kind, asking said sound man to amp it up a bit, to which he responded, 'I've got it,' in a rather condescending tone as if to imply 'you're an asshole, you're too young to even bother me, shut the fuck up.' Perhaps I am jumping to conclusions. Maybe I was out of line. No one likes to be told how to do their job. However, in this kind of situation, isn't the band always right?
Aside from that, a fantastic show. Matt's songs are getting better and better. New one was great. Joints were passed out at midnight. There was a near orgie during the Joe, Marc's Brother set. I rang in the new year smoking pot next to the bathroom like any respectable rebel worth his stripes would have. Pastries, pastries, pastries.
