The Beginning

I don't have a great memory for what's new and not new. I just assume that if it's new, we have about a 50% chance of hearing it twice and 25% chance of it staying in the cannon. So any corrections would be appreciated. Complication sounded familiar, but I can't remember if it had been played before.

But most importantly,
Lions Dressed in Leather = Stick Together re-vamped!!

The recording I have sounds better than what I could hear in the room last night. The bidding starts at $50.

i loved the new/re-vamped material. i've had 'lions dressed in leather' stuck in my head all morning. i was really digging the bass on 'i will wander' (that was the one with the funky bass, right? my memory is a little fuzzy). i am now impatiently awaiting their next album.

and for a venue with seats, no booze, no cigarettes and an overly sensitive fire alarm, it was all right.

The show turned out to be quite amazing, just as I had thought. I would have liked to have been introduced to the Clutters in another venue, smaller and without chairs. Feable Weiner was...Feable Weiner. Yeah.

I love the new songs, of course, and I think this was the first time for both "Lions" and "Complication." No "Arcata" or "Take You On"...that worries me.

"I Will Wander" is awesome. Rollum's falsetto backing vocal? Great.

So, I had no plans to go to the show last night, but despite the worst sound of practically any show I've ever seen, I'm really glad I went. Really, if for no other reason, "I Will Wander" (Wonder?) was worth my trip alone. That's my new favorite Features song for sure. Most of the other new ones will have to grow on me, but I'm officially excited for some new recordings now.

Oh, also Parrish is stepping up to the plate with some pretty badass new toys. And Roger broke a bass string which is always impressive.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I am really excited about the new songs and love hearing older songs that all you old-time fans have known for years. I got the U.K. version or Exhibit A because I had to have Kari-Ann, spelling on U.K. cover, (spelled Kari-anne on Roger's set list from the Tucker show). I wish I had known about The Features years ago, I can't wait to hear what they do in the future.

The Clutters were great and everyone in my group LOVED Feable Weiner!!!
I did wonder if fans of the Greatful Dead are called Deadheads, are fans of the Feable Weiners called Weinerheads?

The Features are great band to see live and have such a rich range of sounds that they are exploring. I loved 'The Gates of Hell' , it seemed like some kind of surrealist Bowie inspired Diamond Dogs experiment (my hopeful interpretaion), I hope this is a hint of rich, layered sound to come. A brass or string track, or both, would really make this track trippy, (sorry I am still psychedelic).

'I will Wander' is surely a single to come!

Thanks to The Features for another amazing show and being so nice after with all the friends and family hanging out!

Congrats to you all and good luck with the new work, we patiently await the new album!

Rollum you are an encyclopedia of all the best in rock history!

'To Hell With Poverty, Let's get Drunk On Cheap Wine' GOF

Yes, I'll have the dada2go please with a side of grits.

Nope. They're called Weiner Warriors.

That occurred to me, too. I'm afraid of the fans that might bring to the Features. They'd be surprised at how different the rest of the music is.

Just saw Simply Steve's pics of this and the grand palace show. Parrish, has a Korg Triton replaced that magnificent Rhodes of yours? Say it ain't so!*

*But if it is, you better sell me that damn Rhodes!
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

I noticed that, too LW. Even though I had no idea that it was a Kong Triton or what the hell one is, I just noticed that during Million ways he wasn't playing the Rhodes...

I am soooo late. yeah.

Venue = crappy of course. when the clutters started, I was very impressed, and all I wanted to do was dance (and drink, for fuck's sake!) but everyone was bored and annoying.
so my friends and i promptly went to the back to dance. at this point some MTSU staff kept bothering us to go up to the front and dance to get other people up. Yeah, no thanks.
Then feeble weiner, which was enjoyable, but not enough to pull me out of my "this show is surreal and awful" state, then the fire alarm...
byt the time the features came on, i was pissy, tired, hungry and sober.

I told you this story only to emphasize the fact that in spite of it all, the features rocked my face off that night. I felt nothing but SHEER DELIGHT with all the new songs i heard that night! No offense to my boys, but i am so tired of exhibit A i could puke. But the fresh material reawaked my love for the features.

the falsetto vocals on "i will wander/ wonder? (which is it)"
literally made me giggle. jordache and i just turned to each other and started laughing bc there was nothing else we could do.
parrish's toys were louder than usual, which I LOVE LOVE LOVED!
everyone was dead on.

I sort of got the feeling that the guys weren't taking it very seriously, bc of the venue and the weird college crowd, and that seemed to make them more playful.

in conclusion, features = take a bad show and make it a good one

edited to add that i didn't drive all the way from memphis to go to the tucker theatre. I was visiting my bff who lives in nashville and as a last minute thing we decided to go. just FYI
