Good for Nashville; it'd been a while since this once had come out, non?

JC! Good to see you back. You're missed. Sorely.

The Features were on fire last night! Their energy was amazing, and they were playing so well. The crowd, a mostly Kings crowd I gathered, seemed really into them as well. I left the show on Cloud 9.

I had a good time last night. The show was good, and the band was tight. I was glad I went, even if I only stayed for about 7 songs of KoL. I hope that some new fans were made. I also grabbed some of the new stickers with the logo hair girl on them.

It was nice to see those who were there. I think I talked more in person with Carl last night than I ever have in all of our meetings combined.

I thought the Features were well and good, but the show was all about me proving to myself that I really don't like the Kings of Leon. I was a little nervous during the first song they played because I found myself thinking "man, if I couldn't actually see them, I would think they were pretty good." Luckily, the other 5 songs I stuck around for pretty much sucked and all was good.

Call me petty or a conspiracy theorist or whatever, but I also smelled a rat as far as the sound was concerned. I am questioning if the Features are being sabotaged. Did anyone else notice how much louder and clearer the sound was for KoL? I've heard that back when metal was in, the headlining band always got the loudest sound so they would appear superior or whatever. I got suspicious last night. I bet I get flamed for this paragraph.

I am very much looking forward to a real features show where they get to play more than 10 songs in front of crowd that isn't waiting for the next band.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Yeah, I noticed they were louder. I just assumed that was a personal choice by each band.

-The Features were awesome. They have clearly been playing a lot lately as they are sounding quite polished.
-Rollum sure likes to go bouncy-bounce in his seat these days.
-The largely unfamiliar crowd was slowly won over. I felt they were resistant for the first few songs, cautiously bobbing for the middle of the set, and giving thunderous applause by the time Thursday climaxed.
-My Features virgin friends loved the show as I knew they would.
-I still feel like Arcata is alright, but Oh (Are?) You Alone is amazing!

-The Kings of Leon were kinda good

-If you missed the show last night (or even if you didn't), rumor has it we'll be getting a headlining show here in town after their VH1 Save The Music show.

Wow, 12 songs is more than I expected them to be playing. Does anyone know if that's about how much playing time I should expect later in the tour, or is that just a Nashville thing? As for them KoL being louder and clearer, I'm almost positive that is the case. I've been to a lot of concerts, and I definitely notice that venues of about that size cater to the headliners to make them sound better than the opening bands. All I have to say is "February 17, 2005 The Features were opening for Kings of Leon. A year later to the date Kings of Leon will be opening for The Features."

With their more polished set, that's about 12 songs.

it seemed like they were only up there for about five minutes to me, but the show was lovely. i got to convert a features virgin, hang out with old friends, make new ones (including roger's uncle and fiance who i obsessed over the entire time - i believe the phrase "a brush with greatness" was used more than once - sorry about that guys tongue.gif) and also got to redeem myself to mister matt pelham for making an asshole out of myself at the red rose that one time by making an asshole out of myself again. so, at least i have that. i hope the rumor about us getting a features headline show is true, last night felt like a tease.

i dont know if u guys are aware of this but the sound for the opening band is ALWAYS less clearer and worse than the sound for the opening band. i forget what the exact term of it was but i believe its called blue tracking/mixing? they do this intentionally so that the main act sounds better...sad but true mad.gif

I found that review funny. I was thinking similar things when I saw them in San Francisco. KOL really plays the rock image thing, a little too much. I couldn't really hear their sound that well in SF, but the songs did sound relatively the same... I left half way through the set. Anyway, that is a good honest review.

I am one of those "Features Virgins" from the Thursday night show at the exit in. The features tore it up live, and I will definitely be attending the Louisville show at Headliners. Honestly, I came to see KoL, but I left singing "Me and the Skirts", and I have been singing Features tunes ever since. Also, I met a lot of good people, and I think the Features are definitely my new favorite band. I am spreading the word to my pals here in Kentucky. Take Care.

You're only the fifth person from Kentucky I've ever met who knows how to spell "definitely" (including myself and my mother) so bless you for that. You don't happen to be one of the people who were talking about being roommates with John Fusco do you? Either way, welcome smile.gif

Hey all,
I was at this GREAT show with Roger's Uncle, it was my first time seeing/hearing The Features live, I loved it, I can't wait for my next chance to see them live.

When we were waiting, patiently, very, very patiently for the show to start 2 hot chicks, or 2 hot babes, or 2 nice young women( I don't wish to offend any hot chicks, babes or young women), were very pleased to get a nice photo with Roger's Uncle, I would love a copy of it for his lovely wife. I may have gotten an email, but my anti-virus software blocked it, If you see this please resend to my other address, dada2go@gmail.com

I think the Features are an amazing tight band that deserves massive attention. I would love to see them on Letterman, I think that show has a big appeal to new music lovers since it is in New York. I wish the Features had more merchandise like the cool t-shirts in a broader range of sizes. Patches for denim jackets would be a big seller too.

The show was tight, the girls were hot and I can't wait for another ride on The Features wave!!!

dada is for me

serah and lalalayousangtome,

Thanks for the posts. I had a great time at the show and can't wait to see The Features again. I love the Exhibit A album, I hope it is a big seller.

You 2 made the show an extra special experience. The crowd was so engaged and the mood was on fire. It was a pleasure to hear the earlier songs, I would love to get them somewhere. It was so cool to see so many fans singing along!!!!! I love a dedicated crowd!!!!

Hey lalala... and serah,
Roger's Uncle and I should be at the April 1 show at the Exit/In. I was glad to see it on the calender at Exit/In's site and on The Features site just tonight. Maybe bring a copy of the photo if you have printer action. I will bring my camera to this one and can get a shot myself. The April 1 show will have a few more of Roger's family members there who love the idea of coming out to support the relative and the band. I know this show will be a blast, it is the last one stateside before a great line-up of British and European shows. I really hope vh1 shows a live broadcast of the gig in New York on March 28, that's the kind of exposure The Features need. EVERYONE needs to hear these guys live and on disc.

Bye for now,

That was a fun show, wasn't it? That was the first show that I haven't been able to squeeze back to my original spot due to the crowd density.

Hey,
Why PM? when you can share the love with everyone. The only seduction is to seduce more Features fans. I know at small churches they often ask people to bring one new member/convert, I hope we can all bring a new convert to the show on April 1. We are here for the music and to support the band. These artists should be everywhere, let's spread the word!

It's always nice to be in the early stages of fandom, but it is only through new fans the popularity can grow!!!

Best to you all and those you love!!!!!
