Well, other folks have already given pretty good descriptions of the show, but here's mine. Interesting venue. Other than the fact that there was a stage and lights, it didn't seem like a rock venue at all. The sound in the club was poor to average, I'd say. The mix was pretty good, but the vocals didn't sound very good. The crowd was in fact quite young, for the most part. I was excited to see that, and curious to see how the younger kids would react to the music. There was no skateboarding or spraypainting, just some outrageous dancing and piggyback rides. I guess I'd say that the crowd was into the show. The Features set was short, but they were up against a curfew, I believe. I think that the Features, to borrow a phrase from Andrew Smithson, came in like lambs, but went out like lions. What I mean by that is that things seemed to heat up as the show went on; it was a shame that it had to end when it did. It's terrible to take pleasure in seeing someone fall into an amplifier, I know, but it was so great to see Matt jumping around on stage so wildly during 'The Beginning' that he jumped into his amp. Take note, kids, that's rock'n'roll right there, rock'n'roll at its best. It was nice to further digest the two 'new' songs. 'Blow it out' sounded less like Weezer and more like the Features; 'Buffalo head' sounded even more rockabilly than before. Other highlights were 'Oh My Love' and 'Walk You Home' and seeing Lawnwrangler jump onstage to help Matt switch guitars. So it was a fun show overall. I love seeing the Features in new places.
