The Design - new lyrics on chorus

Circus

Hello from Knoxville. The show tonight was very good, if not quite as intense as the last Blue Cats show. There were less people there, but the ones who were there were loud and very very into the music. The band played very well. I liked the new song about growing old. The Design has new lyrics on the chorus. It's the same melody, just different words instead of the old 'Wake up to the design.' My personal opinion is that I liked the old way better, but maybe this will grow on me. Thursday was interesting, because it kept speeding up and speeding up at the end. It was up to punkrock speed by the end of the song. Well, Knoxville still loves the Features, and let them know when the set was over by cheering loudly until the Features came back out. They played a four song encore. My upstairs associates, do you have any thoughts?

You forgot to mention the jessco-like hillblilly dancers. They were, in fact, the same people as last time.

great show. a very responsive crowd. more mountian/punk rock dancing, much like the last blue cats show. the guys seemed a bit disinterested at first, but things seem to turn up about half way through. parrish wore no ski cap and rollum was injured in battle. the opening band , senyru, sucked ass. sorry, i tend to be an elitist when it comes to bands i've never heard before. slap bass is stupid unless it is played by a lifeboy in a gorilla suit. as i stated to jc and dv, it would have been a perfect show if we would have had a stagecoach and temp. blues. oh well. goodnight all.

yeah, the Senryu supporter on this board is definately either a member of the band or one of their relatives.

the features need more fans like this.

I think there should be a new tee shirt that says 'rollum 3:16' on the front and that quote on the back.

first off let me say that i am not a member of senryu, nor related in anyway to the band, i am just a fan of good music.  the key to that is a fan of good music.  certain people need to shut their mouths if they aren't open minded enough, or as they say non-elitist enough, to appretiate music from a great band even though it's not the band they came to see.  senryu is a rockin band, and if it's not your style of music then keep your mouth shut.

hey newbie (musicfan) you should check the archives and see what happened to the last guy like you (elliott) - and I am one of the most open minded music guys on this board and the only half way decent thing that senryu played was the last song that they just jammed out on - the singer could not sing and the songs were just not very good - but if that stuff is your bag just go to the senryu message board and post - I just think they are a Money Penny rip off

whatever happened to Money Penny, are they still together?

As most people would know, I am definately not an 'elitist' when it comes to music, I just didn't like Senryu very much, especially not as much as musicfan does. Also, my mouth may be open or shut, it doesn't matter when I'm typing.

Hey everybody,

This is Wil, the singer from Senryu. I just wanted to thank you all for the honest criticism of our band, and say that we were really glad to play with the features. I'm sorry that our sound wasn't for everybody, but I suppose that's the case with most every band. It surely isn't anything to argue over. Have a good day.

Wil and musicfan -
Please don't take people's comments here personally. You have to be prepared for this kind of thing when you post on another band's message board - especially the board of band that is so different from your own. I think that alot of people would like your band. I'm just not sure that the Features are the best band for you to be opening for, just because Senryu and the Features are so different. Sorry if you got your feelings hurt, but you have to be prepared for people's opinions - positive or negative. Good luck to you.

i saw the features last week at blue cats in knoxville... and i must say that i am impressed, no, very impressed. I didnt realize one band could have so many songs that sounded just the same. i also didnt realize that a band with such an ill-formed drummer, and a couple old guys, could actually have a fanbase at all. Not that (reading from these posts) the fanbase here has any sort of intelligence (or musical taste for that matter). I only found one thing good about The features... to me sounded a lot like Weezer or the rentals (except the being good part but i guess that we will just have to suffer). Keep up the good work though, the features, im sure you will get better eventually and then you will have some quality fans with at least half a sense of intelligencia. Until then though, please dont clog up the knoxville local music scene. thanks....

You misspelled (and misused) intelligentsia.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I've had the misfortune of spending the last five years of my life living in Knoxville, which became boring and routine after about three months. The Features are in every way better than any local band I have ever seen here. Life would be extremely joyful in any city which had bands like the Features 'clogging up' their scene.

The only band from Knoxville that I ever liked was Dim Kitchen. Of course, I've only seen a handful of bands there... and that was during high school so many years ago.

I must say Wilryu addressed this very well.

I must say this other guy is probably a fan of Senryu who did not address things so well.

thank you, yadadada. We had a really good time playing with the features. I don't know who the negative post came from, but I assure you that it had nothing to do with us, since we love the features. If this is one of our fans, then I'm sorry to you feature-fans. This is not the place for bashing anyone. This is a place to adore and discuss.

have a good day.
