Random notes:
-The Music were, uh, lame. I immediately thought that they sounded like Jane's Addiction: it was all riff-driven hard rock, and the guy had the Perry Ferrell vocals down. But really, it was like Jane's Addiction playing really bad songs. I also heard them described as "non-dynamic Kula Shaker" and "Kula Shaker on acid." The lead singer danced a lot.
-The Ryman sounded great and Coldplay thought so too, saying that it was the best place they had ever played, and really believing that they sounded phenomenal there.
-Coldplay went onstage to "Columbia" by Oasis, and I was flipping out. What a great choice. I have always thought that would be a great song to go onstage to.
-Musicians backstage or not, Coldplay's set was incredible. They really played well, and I liked the facelifts that they've given "Spies" and "Don't Panic."
-Some guy after the show was handing out fliers for a Coldplay afterparty at...THE MUSE! He said: "Coldplay's going to be there." I said: "Ha!" He said: "Fine, don't believe me." And I didn't. I headed on down that Lost Highway a piece to...

Random notes:
-Strange vibe at 12th&P tonight. Can't put my finger on it. Also, the crowd was kind of small, compared to most Features shows there. But I understand that there were lots of other shows tonight.
-Rana. Well, that writeup in the Rage was completely off. I didn't hear a lick of Talking Heads or King Crimson. But I'll tell you what I saw: a guy playing a guitar behind his head! And not just for a couple of seconds!
-In spite of the weird atmosphere and smaller crowd, the Features brought their A game. They were funky as the Funk Brothers in 1965, and they played "Harold," too!
