I'm pretty sure this setlist is comprehensive (if I left one out...please feel free to repost) and is not in the proper order, but from memory tonight we heard:

Leave It All Behind
Situation Gone Bad
Look Out Below
2x2
Me and the Skirts
Exhibit A
Darkroom
Walk You Home
Someway, Somehow
TWIMTB
See You Through
MWTSTB
Mosis Ptosis

If anyone took notes and wants to set the record straight, please feel free to do so. Not sure if anyone recorded this show. The crowd was fairly thin when The Features went on but quickly began to pile in as the band got started. It's always strange to see the band high up on stage. It was nice to see Mosis Ptosis as a closer. This version seemed to be fairly laid back and slightly down tempo from previous versions.

I had been waiting for this show all week, but found out today I had to work, and wasn't able to make it... It is really nice to see darkroom on the setlist more often now. It was the song that initially got me hooked on the band. And although I've heard mosis ptosis a few times now, I'm not sure I'd like a slower version of it- but again, I wasn't there so couldn't really tell ya.

Did anyone stay for "Jump" ? From what I've heard I think that many casual concert goers could very easily end up liking the Features better than them. (the incident described in that previous post must have been a fluke) I was wondering if their live show was any better than their recorded stuff.

I didn't stay for Jump but I can definitely say that the Features were very well received. It was nice to look around and see new heads bobbing and feet tapping to their songs. The EMT's posting at the side of the stage even seemed to like their music! As far as the Mosis Ptosis version, it wasn't dramatically slowed down. It just didn't have the usual floor stomping zing that you'd expect from it. I was really happy to hear it though as it's becoming one of my favorite songs and it looks as if it will be around for a while.

Although it was only 45 minutes long, the features set was awesome. It was great to see new people getting into the music.

I didn't bother to stay for any of the other bands after The Features. I've never been a big fan of Jump anyways.

I had a fantastic time last night. Ending with Mosis Ptosis was pretty cool. Everything did seem a little laid-back-- but understandably so. Although not as good as a club show, I think their music really translates well to the outdoor venue (there are few bands I can say that about). I liked the setup with the whole ampitheater and stuff.

Thanks to everyone that came to our afterparty (and leaving all your leftover beer). Sorry if I failed to give you an invite.

I thought that it left a lot to be desired. I hate outdoor (as well as big venue) acoustics. The drums were too loud and not poignant. The vocals completely overshadowed everything, which was good for a change of pace, but hurt the overall sound of the songs.

The setlist was very safe and "Belmont", which I thought was a good idea. But, where the fuck was "Harder To Ignore"?

They were too busy playing good songs.

Speaking of which, I'm glad they played S/S after skipping it last time.

Not to nitpick, but what exactly does that mean? How are the songs that they played any "safer" than the rest of their catalog?
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

"safe" you know......like not unloading a power ballad in the beginning of the set.......

(i know this makes no sense)
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

Missing this show was sort of disappointing; hanging out with some old friends at Rosepepper was nice, though.

I can think of little of the Features' catalogue that wouldn't be suitable for a Belmont audience.

The show was very good, but I did not enjoy the atmosphere. Not enough enthusiasm or excitement. It was really nice hearing Matt's vocals clearly for a change. It was a good set other than Someway Somehow and Two by Two being played back to back since they're two of my least favorites live. But, the show was really good either way. I enjoyed myself and left after The Features as I do not care to hear Jump.

Here are some pictures I took. (sorry Parrish is a little blurry)

It's ok. By that, I mean that they played a lot of the less abrasive Features songs (this is all subjective) like Two By Two, Idea of Growing Old, Someway Somehow, Leave It All Behind, Situation Gone Bad, etc, all of which are probably more accesible for a crowd of people who aren't necessarily going out of their way to see the Features (ie - Belmont students that were just "there").

no Circus, Golden, or Harder To Ignore (shut up Carl), which are all standards these days. no Action or GSRNR which are played most of the time. As Keith pointed out, it was kind of surprising that they even played Darkroom (yknow).

Not a bad set by any means, but there's no debating that a bulk of the more (pardon me) "rocking" songs were left out for this show.

thats strange...ive always considered "Darkroom" to be their "safest" (if we are using it in the context of non-features fan friendly) of their entire catalogue.
well maybe besides "Thursday" and "Walk You Home."

with alumni and the like there, a song about masturbation seemed like a ballsy call.

I want to thank Carligula for finally introuducing me to Mindylieu! In addition to a Waffle House trip after your party, we had fun together on Saturday, too! So many makeouts, so little time.....

Oh, I liked the setlist after the first several songs, and I prefer cramped, smokey, dark & dank indoor venures as opposed to "nature" and "sunshine."
That's so NA.

definitely. also, i've found its really hard to dance if there are huge spaces with no people all around me. i just dont know what to do with all of that space!

Oh, and I'm glad I got to meet Rachel, as well....! Yeah, I felt a little self-conscious bouncing around so much with plenty of room around me. I felt like a hippie.

I thought the show was sadly short but very good. I definately like shows indoors better because the crowd is more excited (but hey what can you expect from belmont) and i can get into the music more. But it was way fun anyways. I liked being able to hear the keyboards good. smile.gif The show kept me wanting more Features.

Indeed it was a lovely date. Minus the Union Station fiasco but that was quickly resolved with my Sicilian threats. Sorry Carl, we would have called you but Roger thought it would be better if we didn't...something about a weak heart? Your party rocked! Anytime I can hump a blow-up pepper, MissSept, yourself and Roger all at the same time is alright by me!

I enjoyed the show. It was a beautiful night and I liked the family atmosphere. It was nice because Sina was able to bring her beautiful children and Matt's sweet little family was able to come, too. I enjoyed breathing fresh air for a change. It was weird to be so far from the stage and to look up to the band-not as intimate as indoor venues. And other than the stage lights temporarily blinding me, it was a super night. I got to meet MissSept finally! laugh.gif
