Ah, the Boro. Home of monster Features sets. I mean, can you argue with this setlist? The Boro was only about half full (Thursday night + lots of other shows in middletn). I had what I call the 'Parrish mix' (side stage, by the back door). The show started out pretty tame, but when they played two new songs, I had a suspicion, and when they played Burma that early in the night, I knew for sure that we were in for a special night. The new songs were both OUTSTANDING. The first one was vintage Features - very catchy, interesting beat, angular bassline, great chorus. The second one was a little more outside the box. As I said above, to me it really sounded like Suicide on the verses, with that beat and that organ riff, then it had a heavy prechorus and a really great melody on the chorus.
At the end of the set, I thought I was going to witness a paranormal event, because Thursday was not played. I heard a rumor that it was going to be retired, but alas, they played it, but only after Bumblebee(!), Stagecoach, and some others. I don't know if I'd call it the best Features show ever, but it was damn close.
