Were you there, JC? I looked for you... and you're a pretty hard guy to miss! I even took the liberty of keeping my own set list since I didn't think you were there to perform the sacred duty.

Anyway, I thought the Official Deevol Birthday Concert went very well. Since I'm a musical idiot, I can't offer much analysis of the show, but I'll throw in a few random thoughts. I was surprised they opened with "Circus" since it's really old and usually reserved for later in the show. While the band was playing with their usual energy, most of the songs seemed a tad slower and more mellow... which was kind of nice. Finally, I like it when I'm standing really close to a bank of speakers because you can hear the on-stage conversations that go on between songs. It's usually quite entertaining.

Jamie, you never cease to amaze me. Only a superfan would know the setlist without going to the show. I thought it was a lot better than the last outdoor show. It was nice to stand on the level with the band again. And yes, they must have known it was my bithday because they opened with my all time favorite. There were some technical dificulties involving an amp, I thought it was quite amuzing when Matt moved it right in Roger's way. I still miss the club shows where they headline and play for over an hour, but it was definately a nice birtday treat. Unfortunatley I have to work tomorrow so the celebration has already stopped. For those interested the real b-day party will be at the End Friday during the My Tyger / Verde show. I hope to walk very crooked that night.
An open frame in the 10th, I WAS ROBBED!
