Foundation's Cracked *
Gates Of Hell **

Hold You Alone

Not in order, but they did open with "The Beginning" and close with "Thursday."

* Formerly known as "Untitled" or "Chemical Head." Not played since the all-request show on November 8th, 2003.

** Formerly known as "I Won't Let You Down." Debuted on May 4th, 2001 and, as far as I know, was never in regular rotation.

---

So this was one of the most surprise filled Features nights ever. I mean, "Chemical Head" making a comeback, sounding totally polished and, possibly, better than ever as "Foundation's Cracked." "I Won't Let You Down" becoming a quirky and mature ballad, full of demonic imagery? This show makes me want album 2 as quick as possible. Not only is it going to be better than "Exhibit A," it's going to sound so different and prove to the entire world that The Features are more than a new wave throwback.

And the less said about the Shazam, the better.

Chemical Head was far more amazing than the credit it often got. I'm thrilled to see it has made a come-back.

I wish I had been able to make it, looks like they closed it out with a bang.
*edit, Nevermind, I just read that the setlist wasn't in order.

The bad thing is that they've nixed the "don't lie to me" part and replaced it with something else. It's still great and the added handclaps are welcome indeed.

great show. i heard "gates of hell" in soundcheck and suprisingly found myself humming the melody. "i won't let you down" is one of my favorite features oldies and i'm glad it's back. the new "chemical head" was great, but i think i won't prefer it sans handclaps (gasp!). the features are amazing. it had been too long.

I had a really great time at the show. I was glad to hear Chemical Head was back, but I'm not entirely sold on Gates of Hell. I'm pretty bummed they only gave us 45 minutes, but it was pretty action-packed.

I hereby resolve to yell "Someway, Somehow" a little bit less often during shows. I've accepted it as a lost cause. R.I.P. S/S. sad.gif

I must say that Parrish is looking especially fit these days. I'm almost disappointed by this, though. If he had put on some more weight, in a few years he would have been a shoe-in for Celebrity Fit Club.

Carl, dude, Gates of Hell is the mother fucking shiznite. It is one of the most psychedelic songs i've ever heard from the features, and definitely the highlight of the show (at least for those of us that are all about getting psychedelicized).

Is it more psychedelic than Mosis Ptosis?

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer music that sounds great even if you're not on drugs.

Hmm, I like some Features songs better than others, but I've never heard one that didn't sound great . . .

"Mosis Ptosis" is psychedlic? I mean, I didn't peg "Gates of Hell" as psychedlic either. I guess that's because I don't really know what psychedlic is aside from Jefferson Airplane.

I saw that Behind the Music a whole lot.

I think the most entertaining part of the show for me was watching Digsy react so joyously when they played Foundation's Cracked (another reference to crack for all you who pay attention to the Features' rampant drug use).

I think it's the most psychedelic features song I've heard. Although I wouldn't have chosen those words to describe it. I was just trying to get a feel for what Gates of Hell sounded like.

Haven't you heard Action, Serious, Love is Golden or Rabbit March?

I agree about "Action" and "Rabbit March," but "Love is Golden" and "Serious" are some personal faves of mine. Especially "Love is Golden." They'll be resurrecting that one in 2007.

Haha, okay, so I forgot about a few . . .

But Digsy is right about Serious, and Love is Golden was really gowing on me. Action is the worst song I've heard from them. Rabbit March was bad, but it was also short. Treehouse Club was much worse.

Perhaps it's time for a poll.

Just wanted to say that "Foundation's Cracked" sparked what might be the happiest Features moment I've ever had. I've been wanting "Chemical Head" to come back for such a long time. Second favorite Features song ever. It made me so happy.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?
