I loved the sound at first, but accoustically, they only really sounded great with a few songs. I appreciated the rarity of it though, it was a special treat and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I know its all part of their promotion, but doing things like this "show" only make me like them that much more; something I wasn't sure was possible.

Oh yea, it was nice to hear "Look Out Below" again, I was afraid it had gotten the axe. It sounded especially nice done accoustically.

I was very impressed. It just shws how awesome The Features are. I would have liked to hear more songs but I'm glad I got to hear what I did. I really enjoyed the acoustic version of Stagecoach.

This was such a great show. I desperately want a videotaped or audio copy of it and am willing to trade my DVD of the January Inferno Bar show (where Matt tripped into the speakers during TWIMTB) for it. Just contact me if interested.

I took some pictures that I'm going to try to put up on my printroom.com site. Hearing "Stagecoach" and "LIAB" back to back acoustic was just mesmerizing. I was also glad that they did "Dark Room" after I requested it, even though it is obviously not an acoustic song. After that song, Matt said "No more requests" until he forgot his entire back catalogue and asked for suggestions. It really just felt like a little gathering among friends, with Matt laughing a lot and everyone standing oh so close. Great little show, glad I switched my day off to see it.

I so almost swung by this gig after work, then decided not to because I had so much shit to do tonight. Well, the shit didn't get done and now I wish I'd have seen the show.

Did ya get the DVD, TF, 'cause we want to see it!

yes, a recording of this would be cooler than cool.

of all the songs they could have done in an acoustic set, i would have expected bumblebee to be included.

I don't think this will go down as "The Greatest Features Show in History," but I think that in a few years, people will be asking, "Were you there that time The Features played an acoustic show at that record store?" You could tell they hadn't really practiced the songs on acoustic instruments, but the environment was so special that it made the show a real treat. The set list was incredible; I never expected to hear "Moonlight" played again.

My favorite part was that it was a request free-for-all. They played "Exhibit A" and then Matt just started taking requests. I refrained from yelling for "Stick Together," "Your Smile," and "Willie and the Willigers."

I know that the show was recorded, but I don't know if it will be put into circulation.

I want to hear more about my mentor, Roger Dabbs, playing an UPRIGHT BASS! Is this true? If so, where did he get it? I had no idea that the DB was in his repertoire.

I know I better get a copy.

Did anyone else think that the acoustic version of LIAB sounded very, very polished-- like they had been working on it? Hmmm...

Hats off to the band for taking what was only supposed to be a couple of songs to draw people into Grimey's to buy stuff and making it a respectable, request-laden set. I hope they enjoyed playing half as much as we enjoyed watching.

I absolutely loved the show. It was so good. I was of course, very pleased to hear "Dark Room". And, although "Leave it all Behind" isn't one of my favorite songs, I thought it was beautiful acoustic. I loved the way it began and Roger's bass on it. I'm so glad I was able to make it to this show. I can post some pictures of Roger's bass next time I'm on the internet, Jamie Carroll.

Here are some of my crappy pictures that I took on the ol' Spy Cam.

Here's one.
And here's another.

There's 11 or so more. And I'm serious. I'll do/trade/pay anything for a copy (video or audio) of this show. Seriously. I will.

Juuust kidding. I was trying to post the pictures directly here and it wouldn't let me. I'll see what I can do.

Does this work? To my knowledge, you don't have to be a member to look at pics.

Wow, what an odd-looking bass. I have never seen one like that before. Does that have frets on it? It looks kind of like it does. In fact, it looks like just a big acoustic bass guitar stood on one end. Interesting.

I'm glad they played Moonlight as well. I had requested that as the 3rd song or so but they didn't play it. So then I went with "Look Out Below" and they did play it, and it sounded pretty good. Matt said, "I don't know...it's got some high parts in it." He was having trouble hitting the high notes on a few songs but LOB came out just fine. I was very happy that they DID play Moonlight after LOB. Roger apparently did not want to play Moonlight and it seemed that he'd forgotten the bassline as he struggled through it for most of the song. Guess that one probably will be fading out of the setlist. Oh well.

Yeah, it did have frets. Prior to the show starting, it looked like Roger was having to get used to it a tad.

Man, this show was so much fun...

They actually had brought that bass to the Million Ways shoot, and were screwing around with it. I think there's a picture of Rory playing it. It's kinda like a mariachi bass, but weirder shaped.

I think it's standing on a plunger. I wasn't close enough to see, but he did walk by me with the bass in one hand and the old plumber's helper in the other.

I taped the show (w/ RD's minidisc setup) and it sounds decent. Maybe I can work out some sort of method of distribution so everyone whose name isn't Carl can have it.
I TOTALLY AGREE!
