Wow, if I had never seen the Features prior to that show, I would definitely fall in love because of that setlist. My only problem with it is that Kari-Ann was included over See You Through or Dark Room. But I'm sure that our Features will shake things up a tad nightly like they normally do.

Man, that's a really good setlist. a fucking kick ass setlist...

my girlfriend's sister goes to college in atlanta and she went to the show.
she said that the features were fucking amazing. she left as soon as their set was over.

No See You Through? How can that be?

Still, a great set it would seem.

You may like grandma's yard gnomes, but I've seen Rock City. Remember it.

maybe they didn't play it since it requires some crowd-participation and they weren't sure about who knew that in the crowd. even though it would've been great either way. they are wonderful and amazing. rolleyes.gif

Exactly, I can understand why they didnt do "see you through". it is a fucking awesome song, but it requires large amounts of crowd participation.

this was a good show. the echo lounge is a cool venue with great sound. the mix was very keyboard heavy which i always love. also, roger's bass was extra fuzzy and at time sounded like zeus coming down from mount olympus piss drunk and looking to score. personally, i was a little disapointed in the set list. i thought that opening for pere ubu they would have done some of the darker stuff (burma, temporary blues, action, someway somehow) instead of some of the songs they chose. i was actually completely suprised by the decision to end with thursday, until i thought about the 10 inch version of this song. i would think pere ubu was a big influence on the recording of this song. pelham even let out a little more warble in his voice (a pere ubu signature) through the set. perhaps he meant to do, perhaps it just happened. regardless it was great. they turned some heads that night.

strangest moment of the night: three guys that drove up from florida cornered me, thinking i was pelham, and asked me to sign their pere ubu poster, i tried to convince them i was just merely joe, but they weren't buying it. so i gladly signed MATT PELHAM is big capital letters. poor bastards' gonna try to sell it on ebay one of these days.

oh yeah, pere ubu was a real treat.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

I wouldnt say that the tour setlist is set in stone. i bet they'll maybe mix it up a little to keep things fresh.

LW,

The guys showed up last night in Athens and saw Pelham on stage tuning and the guy who was convinced you were him let out a, "Oh... that's the guy!" Pretty funny.

True, but we had discussed possibilities, and that's what they chose for one night at least.

Good show. Had fun in ATL. New respect for apples. A 35 minute set is such a tease these days, but the perfect tease for a new listener, I suppose. I would love to spend an hour with some of Pere Ubu's noise making equipment, especially the feedback aprin.
An open frame in the 10th, I WAS ROBBED!

I know that JC, TF, a few others, and I all knew about thelawnwrangler's article in a paper around here called the East Tennessean. He wrote a great article, so you all should check it out. If you can't get to it through this link, try going to their homepage (www.easttennessean.com) and then to lifestyles. Enjoy.
