...now that was a great show... it was the first time i had heard 'bring on the night' and i must say, i was amazed... how is it that everytime they start playing a new tune it immediately sounds crazier and more brilliant than anything they've ever done? i keep telling myself that no band can keep that kind of pace up, but they do... anyway, enough wetting myself, here's the setlist... sortof (i'm not real sure about the order, perhaps someone else can correct me- the only ones i know for sure are the first two, and the last two or three)

the beginning
walk you home
someway somehow
buffalo head
dark room
the damage is done
kari-ann
leave it all behind
exorcising demons
bring on the night
see you thru
idea of growing old
god save rock & roll

encore
circus
action

i believe that about covers it... oh i almost forgot, character was especially good, too!

it was fortunate i was already in atl to see wilco the previous night. last night's show was the last in a three day bender. good setlist, lots of new stuff. i must say i like "someway somehow" with the old bridge. i miss it. character also was enjoyable, blazing through a capably played set.

Ahh the show. I have been longing for some time to see them play a complete setlist, since the last show I saw was The Boro show in May. I think that every time I see The Features, I love them even more. And, I keep thinking, "There is no possible way that I could get anymore into this band. I am already head-ver-heels for them." Well, they always encourage me to manage to love them just a little (or a lot) more every show. So, I keep proving myself wrong. It's nice.

I liked the show a lot, and what was especially comforting would have to be looking at the other side of the crowd to see lawnwrangler and a couple others rocking out as hard as I was. I was sweating and out of breath by the time it was over. What a lovely night. I can't wait until the shows in August.

My random notes for the show:

- An excellent show and well worth the drive to Atlanta. I really like the Echo Lounge as a venue. It sounds great, and I thought the lighting was really nice, too.

- I was a bit disappointed with the crowd. I was hoping more locals would wander in and fall in love with the Features. I think there may have been more people there when Character played then when the Features went on.

- Without the theremin, Character wasn't as much fun

- I actually enjoyed the Moto Litas. Not because they're chicks but because they have a strong rhythm section

- Matt and Rollum both got hair cuts. Matt didn't have to pull his hair from his eyes during the show.
grass stains, airplanes, anything and everything

I was going to mention that I enjoyed the Moto Litas, too, but it slipped my mind yesterday when I posted. Their music is pretty enjoyable.

I like their haircuts. It was funny that Matt wiped his eyes on the sleeve of Roger's shirt since his hair wasn't there to catch the sweat anymore. He was still quite sweaty by the time the show came to an end. Like I have said before, I love Matt all sweaty. Wait...I love Matt anyway. But, sweaty is particularly nice.
