here's the review of last night's show from the messageboard, but don't ask me what half the stuff he's talking about means:

Hah!! We went to see them again tonight and they were even BETTER!!!! The Metro Club (Oxford St) freakin' rocks ASS. We missed their first couple of songs (I thought they were headlining, but no) but they were ACE. And I spoke to the drummer (I talked to him about Adria - we agreed she is one TOP girl) and I bought their 10" single from 1999.

Then we watched The Mutts (a bit Led Zep, and all about 18) and The Barbs (VERY good fun - the girly singer was a cross between Debbie Harry and a much more punk-rock Wendy James, but with better legs).

Now I'm back in Balham with the Sausage and I think she's fallen asleep again

i don't like sausage. i like the features pretty well, though, so i guess sausage is cool with me if it's cool with them. any idea what kind of crowd these places hold? are they packing them? are sausage clubs the rage in england?

here's what my friend said about it.. in case you're interested..

"Ok - I have to admit it, I was impressed...... They are indeed a good band...... Nice call (I must admit, I was feeling a little unsure when we were going to the club as everyone was going on my recommendation) LOL

There were a lot of people there and we all had a great time - they played well to the audience and they have soooooo much energy. They played a good range of music too and it was all well received. The club was not packed out but there were a lot of people there. My ears were still ringing when I got up this morning - It was SO damn loud! LOL

6 of us ended up going and had a good night."

...and so on...

They must have made a good impression.. even though the title of this email to me was "The Fortunes".. I'll have to correct him later.

other posts:

"aww well with the late start I'm definitely glad I didn't chance it then. They were on the xfm gig guide today, described as a Tennessee art rock quartet. Interesting. Can't wait to see them later in the year then"

"I also left a bit early because of tube worries, but they were really good from what I heard."

"Hmmm, they weren't bad but nothing really gripped me about them. To be honest if I was really enjoying it I would have stayed. I'd give them a listen again though."
