Here is the set list from Memphis:
Circus
The way it's meant to be
Woodstock
Intro
Wooden Heart
Contrast
Exhibit A
Me & the Skirts
New song, can't remember name
Demons
Leave it all behind
Mosis ptosis
I was told the show was shorter than it was supposed to be, by two songs or so, b/c they blew out a tire on the way here and arrived at the time they were supposed to go on, 4 hours later than scheduled. There was a brief soundcheck and while everyone was standing around waiting they launched into Circus. Crazy dancing Murfreesboro guy and I were the only two people dancing all out, front and center. (tho he puts me to shame.) It was freaking HOT at the Young Ave. Deli, but the sweat kind of added to the experience. Someone from the band said that they cut it a little short b/c they felt bad for the Whigs, who were waiting to go on. Funny thing was that most of the crowd left after the Whigs started. The Features weren't opening for the Whigs, according to my friend who booked the show, it was supposed to be equal billing, but I guess that is how it ended up. A crying shame since the Whigs suck compared to the Features.
For those of you who dont know Memphis, it's a great place to see a show b/c the venues are smaller- read: more intimate- and only packed on occasion. The Features, sadly, did not pack the place. One of my only complaints about Memphis crowds is the too-cool-for-school-factor, i.e. not as much crazy dancing. I try to compensate for that. However, it was nice to see them at a small venue, to be up front with plenty of dancing space, and to be able to talk to the band outside afterward. I know it's just a matter of time before these guys are signed again to a bigger label, (my vote is Merge, indie represent y'all), so I felt really lucky.
