Ola,
Saw The Features when they came to the Empress Ballroom @ Blackpool with Kings Of Leon and I was blown away by their amazing stage presence and instantaneously catchy songs. I loved them after about 5 minutes!
Loads of orange balloons with The Features logo on them had been blown up and scattered around the floor before the show which was cool!
The Features put so much energy into their music on stage that night, they seemed to have the audience in a trance. Rollum (such an ironic name, but such a dude!) was stunningly brilliant on the drums - a new found drumming jem!
What i thought was really nice was the fact that after the show, they helped to sell their merch and chatted to the fans. It was nice to see that they are a band that aren't up themselves and are interested in meeting the people who buy (or could potentially buy) their music. (I bagged a signed album ha! tongue.gif )

Anyone else see them @ KOL?

Love to you all...

No, but I will see them this Thursday in Nashville with KOL. It sure was strange to pay $43 for 2 tickets to see (basically) The Features (It was $15 a ticket plus all those ridiculous Ticketmaster charges). I probably could have gotten a cheaper ticket, but truth be told I kind of enjoyed shelling out that much to see them. It seemed kind of symbolic, like they've moved up in the world or something. I hope they play a good long set because I'm still unsure of how I feel about Kings of Leon.

They're $15 + $2 at Grimey's.

Thats awesome.... I hate ticketbastard and would almost drive to grimeys from the boro just to keep them from getting an extra $7. We'll see if time permits.

What are the odds it sells out?

I'd say pretty damn good when you consider the Kings can and have done it in several cities (twice in the big ones!). Of course, I think the local backlash against them will be counteracted by the love of those same people for The Features.

Have they really pissed THAT many local people off?

Maybe you should start a poll. I bet you would get a better response if it were annonymous.

My take: I never saw documented evidence that they bad-mouthed the nashville music scene, but I trusted my buddies who said that they had. I pretty much assumed the rumors were true. When they asked The Features to tour with them, I personally felt that maybe they had gotten a bad rap from us scenesters. As a fan of the Features, I feel indebted to them for letting our boys come along and share in the fun and a little bit of the fame.

I still don't really care all that much for their music.

Just to update you all. BOTH nights are sold out now.
which brings me to this:
does ANYONE have a spare ticket (or better 2) that i can buy off of them. you might not agree with some of my tastes, but you all should know by now that i am a big features fan and i didnt have the funds till today to run down and check our grimeys for the tickets.
anyway. id be forever in debt to anyone who could help me out.

Yeah, I procrastinated too long. When are the Features going to play their own show in TN again?

On the flyers for the recent UK tour, KOL were quoted as saying, 'The Features are our new favourite band'.
Also the orange Features balloons made an appearance at the gig in Sheffield, I dont think a single one remained un-popped before they even came on stage!

In Blackpool someone had stuck loads of balloons together and there was this massive orange thing being bounced around for ages! What fun! xxx
