TOPIC: The Features With Jump
Posted  Sunday, May 2, 2004 at 1:32 AM
Post 1 of 37
Just saw You Guys open up here for Jump Little Children in my home town of Charleston. Although I was there to see Jump, you guys kicked ass. One of the best drummers I have heard in a while, and The Synth's added a unique sound that made your stuff enjoyable. Glad I caught y'alls act, visit Charleston Anytime.

Great show last night! I am a Jump fan as well, and after seeing The Features last night, I am now a Features fan as well. And I second what the first post said about the drumming. That was hands down some of the best drumming I have seen in a while. When they ended their set I was still wanitng them to play more. I had came their to see Jump, and was anxious to see Jump play, but when The Features stopped, I had that i wish they would play one more song feeling in me. The guys were so nice after the show too. They worked their merch booth and every EP bought they were all signing the cover to it. I was happy to see it looked like the EP was selling pretty well last night too. So yeah, it was a great show and I can't wait to see this band again.

if that mnemonic guy is who i think it is, it's my friend that i went to the show with. i'm not a huge jump fan, but i like them to a degree. i was very impressed with the features though...i still can't get over the drummer. he was seriously the best drummer i have seen in a long time. he was incredible. you guys have to come back to charleston before the summer months are over...after that, i'm going away to college. if you get a chance go to clemson during school months. i gotta hear y'all live again. i guess i'm an instant fan....didn't take much convincing.

I suggest you buy all the recordings featuring the drummer, Rollum Haas, that are available for sale, no matter what the band.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

Saturday night's show was awesome! The Features rocked out! Before Saturday, I had never even heard of them, as of now I am IN LOVE with this band! I bought The Beginning, and I can't stop listening to it. I went to see Jump, and Jump was awesome...but The Features just blew me away...a lot of the Matt girls who were there for the "Vertigoesque" Jump music were a little blown away by their tunes but I LOVED them...I wish Thursday and Blow it Out were on the cd though....Those are my favorites!!!

I agree completely with birthday suit. The Features were brilliant. I heard lots of mixed reviews but they were magnificent and then some. I didn't want them to stop playing. Rollum was the life of the party. When he was using his barefeet to tap the cymbal I thought I would I melt! They all did a superb job and I can't wait to see them again. As stated previously, come back to Charleston anytime!

It really warms my heart to realize that our beloved Features are reaching so many new people. And from what it sounds like, they're putting all of their energy into the shows (spraying blood and barefoot drumming and whatnot). Good good good.

Can anyone tell me how to find information on The Privates and Moonshyne? I'm not always the best at searching and who knows what I'd find searching "The Privates". ohmy.gif

the privates

I doubt you find a site on moonshyne... at least not until the Features are world famous and every jackass has to list moonshyne as a major influence to get indie cred....

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace Frog had the correct link: .NET, not .COM!

That's a totally different band. Rollum is still in the Privates. In fact they're playing Cinco de Mayo at the Red Rose.

Peace Frog's link went to the right website but the link birthday suit mentions doesn't go to the correct site. Apparently there are two different bands called The Privates...

uh, wow, this response is AMAZING!!!! the crowd was so pumped about the features, i hope this means they'll come back (oh please oh please.) wow...i can't believe i won't be the only features fan in charleston anymore. hahaha. they rocked shit out in a major way that night, too...i was a little tipsy and screamed my lungs out for 'walk you home' (which they played) and 'paid to think' (which they didn't.) actually, i'm sort of embarassed because after the show both matt p. and the guys in jump were like, 'uh, was that you screaming?' whoops. *blush*

so in case you're ever at a features show and hear some bitch screaming really loudly, come up and say hi. haha.

Moonshyne was just a highschool garage band. I only mentioned it because technically they had a cassette they sold at shows (America's Favorite Cookie). I actually still have a copy.

No his first band, Rasputin, did the Nirvana covers. I think they only had one show, at the Lebanon Skate Rink.
