First off, excellent show. Dumbass me didn't have any paper, so I can't give a setlist. I do know that they opened with Circus, because when I threw my fist in the air when you yell, "Pow!" kids started looking me. I gave them all "You'll be dancing soon" looks. The sound was excellent, and they were great. I felt lots of energy for sure. It was the first time I have been to The Orange Peel, and as a venue, it rules me 110%.

What didn't rule me was the fact that it was an all ages show. (Rachel, please take note that you are an exception to this dislike of mine. You don't seem to act like these kids did at all.) I had never been to one before, so I wasn't used to having 12 year olds in Abercrombie short skirts and tank tops hugging on one another and acting up. On a more positive note, what I did like about the kids was the fact that they got into the show and started clapping, jumping up and down, and singing. So, that was a good thing.

I talked to Mindylieu after the show, and she said that a bunch of kids signed up for the mailing list and all that. I also finally got to meet Roger, so that was nice.

While I am thinking of it, Jump (Little Children) played a pretty decent show. I've never really listened to them much, but I definitely wasn't in misery. That's something significant for sure. I will miss The Features until they get back greatly.

Fantastic. This was the best "sounding" show I think I have ever seen. Joey does a great job with the sound and I am soooo glad they finally got a sound guy! I could actually hear Parrish!!!! I had the best time last night!!! The Orange Peel is a really cool venue. It was a little weird that people couldn't drink (all ages show) so I think that might have turned some people off. I always enjoy the no smoking factor, though.
The Jump fans seemed to really enjoy The Features and were very enthusiastic. It was too funny when they yelled out "HOT DRUMMER!" Ahhhh...to be a teeny-bopper again....
I had a great time working the merch and talking to all the new/old fans. Especially Steph! I tried to keep a set list but I got so into the show and talking to people that I kind of missed a few songs. It didn't help that I had a pretty good buzz going...Here is what I did catch:

Circus*
TWIMTB*
Exhibit A*
See You Through
Blow it Out
Million Ways
Me & the Skirts
Leave it All Behind
Mosis Ptosis
Thursday

*These are in the correct order definitely...I am not sure of the order of the others. That is about the time I got a little too buzzed, so there might have been a few more as well.
I really enjoyed Jump. They put on a great performance and are really nice guys. Their merch ladies are super, too!
Wish more of our MB could have been there last night.

Aw, thanks. Hopefully I will get to "officially" come back and see a Nashville or Murfreesboro show with you all again. I miss dancing partners and chatting to people.

Hi! I'm new to the message board. I was also at the show last night in Asheville. I thought it was great! It was my fourth time seeing the Features live, and once again - I was not disappointed! I finally go up the nerve to talk to the fellas, and I was extremely relieved to find that they are very friendly and easy to talk to (not that I could think of anythin cool to say!) They seemed impressed that I had an old version of "the Beginning" - like I was an "old school" fan, but I confessed that I only bought it a few months ago. I was glad that the crowd (young though they were - I think I was at least 10 years older than everyone there) was into the show. I wish I'd known there were other Features fans. I drove up there from Athens, GA. I've been following Jump around for about 5 years, so I was really excited that two of my favorite bands were touring together.

It was too funny when they yelled out "HOT DRUMMER!" Ahhhh...to be a teeny-bopper again....
I'm 33 years old and I felt like yelling the same thing when they were in Charleston! biggrin.gif

Another question, does the band tour often or only in spurts?

They tour almost constantly from August to May, with a few weeks or a month off here or there. So really, the tour in constant spurts.

I noticed that they'll be in Baltimore soon...mmmmm, crab cakes...I certainly hope that they get a chance to enjoy the local seafood.
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.

There should be/will be several more tours this summer. The details are still being worked out.
