Great to see the Features back in the UK with a storming set at Bournemouth Villa on Friday. Made a note of the setlist as follows:

Circus
The Way It's Meant To Be
Me & The Skirts
Arcata
The Temporary Blues
The Dark Room
Exhibit A
Blow It Out
Leave It All Behind
Exorcising Demons
Kari-Ann
There's A Million Ways To SIng The Blues
Mosis Ptosis
Hold You Alone
Thursday

It was the first time I had seen them since December's gig at the Camden Barfly. If I remember rightly the setlist was pretty similar then. However, they definitely did an encore of "The Beginning" that night. Sadly, no encore at Bournemouth. Although I shouted as loudly as I could not many joined in despite them being seemingly well received throughout the set. In fact it must be the fastest I've ever seen the front row of an audience disperse! Maybe they don't allow encores in this venue so nobody wastes their breath trying for one. Only other gripe was the loss of vocals on Hold You Alone. The band seemed to enjoy it and Matt even announced when Exhibit A is coming out over here. At last!

I can't wait for Monday night to see them in Oxford. Hope someone else reading this is going and will join me in the shout for an encore! Anyone go to Cardiff last night and has a report?

Yeh i was there at Bournemouth working for Traffic for The Features and Exist. The venue usually doesnt do encores - dunno why though - but i think its cause its so small and bands just have nowhere to go and come back on!
I spoke to both Matt's (Pelham (lead) and Meaks (manager)) and they both said to me that they will include one of my fav's Harder to Ignore on Monday in Oxford, where ill again (3rd time!) be helping promote The Features!
See you there Andy!

See what you mean Ollie. Hey, but they should've hid behind the speakers/keyboards or something and pretended to go off stage. Would have loved it if they had done my faves "See You Through" and "Situation Gone Bad". Still, one thing I like about the Features is all their songs are memorable so can't grumble about the selection. Anyone with a setlist from Cardiff, yet? See you in Oxford then Ollie.

Amazing set in Oxford - due to many audience requests they played an extra 4 songs! Harder to Ignore was added into the jumbled about Bournemouth setlist and played for: "Hey this one is for Ollie" - me smile.gif lol and um then did an encore of Situation Gone Bad, The Idea of Growing Old and their first ever single The Beginning! What a great night with an awesome that had the whole of their album in it!

They also played "Someway, Somehow" in the encore which according to Matt was "for the first time in a couple of years". Unfortunately, they didn't do "See You Through"- I couldn't shout loudly enough!

The setlist for Oxford:

Circus
The Way It's Meant To Be
Me & The Skirts
Kari-Ann
There's A Million Ways To Sing The Blues
Arcata
The Temporary Blues
Exhibit A
Blow It Out
Exorcising Demons
Leave It All Behind
Mosis Ptosis
Hold You Alone
Harder To Ignore
Situation Gone Bad
Thursday

Encore:
The Idea Of Growing Old
Someway, Somehow
The Beginning

The only one they didn't do from Bournemouth is "The Dark Room". Oxford was awesome- they seemed more relaxed than at Bournemouth, it was definitely the best gig I've seen them do. Amazing how so many people seem to know loads of the songs and words. Not sure about the promotional luggage labels though!

OK folks, this is the last time I'll see them on this tour so I'm relying on others for setlists!

Cheers!
Andy

Yeh i agree Andy - they played alot better at Oxford probs cause Bournemouth was their first date and had a touch of nervous i'd imagine. They also were very tired before Bournemouth when i was talking to them - it probs helped that they had a day break before the Oxford gig! Lets just hope we havent tired them out for the rest of the tour with all our shouts for more songs!

Believe me, there will be a lot of yelling at the London gig.

Between my girlfriend, my sister and I we yelled enough for a whole crowd last time.

We're bringing three more people this time.

Oh yes.

...and this ain't one of them...

wow....i saw them in Newcastle last night, and just wow...they were brilliant live...Rollum is great on those drums..and Matt is the cutest thing when hes singing..some of the facial expressions..set list is as follows...

Circus
The Way It's Meant To Be
Me & The Skirts
Arcata
Exhibit A
Exorcising Demons
Blow It Out
There's A Million Ways To Sing The Blues
Leave It All Behind
Mosis Ptosis
Hold You Alone
Thursday

they did quite a lot of talking between tracks...and we even managed to get to speak to most of the band at the end. I waved Rollum over, who then went and got me the set list. Then when we spoke to Roger he went and got everyone to sign it. And we also spoke to Matt. I think Roger said they'd most likely be comeing back later this year

We saw them in Dec with the kings of Leon, so couldnt believe it when they came back here. Me, and my 2 friends, we just about the only ones who were singing and dancing in the crowd. Even more so because Roger said that hed notcied us 3 by the side dancing and singing away.

I saw them in Wolverhampton and they were excellent although they were very quiet between songs...probably put off by some big fella shouting FEA-TURES, FEA-TURES in a black country accent the entire time they were on stage. Not entirely sure about the set, but they played the album plus mosis, walk you home, arcata, dark room plus others which I dont know the names for (la da da da...with the whistling at the end??). The encore was growing old and dark room, which I think were requested by the big fella as soon as they stepped off the 'stage'. Had a quick chat with Mat afterwards and autographs all round...what a nice bunch. Even though I have the album on import I shall be purchasing a second to do my bit. Hope they come back soon, would never get bored of watching them...

yeah...it would have been good to have had an encore..but their wasnt too much support in the crowd as they were playing as part of a regular indie night up here....so i think it was probably a little different..really hope they come back again though!

At that wolverhampton gig. We were actually shouting FU-TURES. Just black country madness fuelled by copious amounts of ale. A fantastic night.

Oh! At the popes funeral we were yelling "wake up santa" and they were only serving communion wine. Still a good gig though.

Yeh moraq they played encore at Oxford is what i meant not Reading opps...have Reading on the brain! lol
Having bands play on a regular indie night can be dodgy cause crowd arent neccessarily bothered about the band sad.gif
I am sure they will play up there again when they tour again in August!

Big Fella & meeha01,

that yam yam twang is tough even on brummie ears. Didn't ruin my night, one of the best gigs I have been to for ages, especially in a smaller venue. Not sure if many other Features gigs had full grown men doing piggy-backs....

Hopefully they will come to brum next time, where we all talk proper and treat our pigs with respect.

You can't download pictures here-- they must be hosted elsewhere. If they're already online somewhere, you can use the "img" tab while filling out your post. Just paste the address in the box. (Note: the code will be placed at the end of your post regardless of where you put the cursor)

It works best if you actually view your profile, go to "see more pictures" and click to get the full sized picture. Alternatively, if the adress you cut and paste says "small" or "medium" at the end, change it to "large". I think...
