Normally, I don't dig really serious spy/government agent/action/suspense thrillers, but I saw a free sneak preview of this last week and I was quite impressed. I didn't think anything was overdone-- a smart, tight little story. I watched the original (Bourne Identity) and though it was equally good. Pretty underrated movie if you ask me. I mean, I'm sure they both made tons of money, but I think I underestimated how well-done it was going to be.

Hey- I agree & I generally hate this genre. Sure, there was one car chase that seemed to last 15 minutes, but otherwise it's a fun & not dumb movie. Plus everything looks cool & gritty, not super-slick and plastic like most action movies.

I really liked the first one so I went into this one with high expectations... perhaps too high because I was bit disappointed. After thinking about it, though, it really wasn't that bad. I'm glad they didn't take the obvious route of a Matt Damon/Julia Stiles romantic connection.

Has anyone read any of the books?

Booo! I must've missed the part that was supreme. I totally dig the first one (i can watch it whenever and enjoy it every time) but I assumed that they would have made a better effort for the second one. The plot could've gone so many different and interesting directions and it just wound up being the obvious one every time. I honestly think I would've walked out if a friend of mine's friend hadn't coughed up the dough for my ticket(and if I hadn't had to sit in the middle of a row between complete strangers that kept giving me dangerous stares when I laughed at parts that I felt were contrived).
Its too bad 'cause I was looking forward to it, which rarely happens for me with a sequel. At least I didn't waste anything but time on it.
