Anybody seen this one yet? It's playing at the Belcourt this week. Any fan of Bruce Campbell's work (Evil Dead series) or really lame B-movies should check it out. It was a pretty original story: Elvis is alive in a Texas rest home and teams up with a black dude who thinks he's JFK to take on this re-animated mummy who's sucking the souls from the anuses of all their friends. Not bad, considering the budget. Ossie Davis was particularly good as JFK.

(Note: For the overly sensitive ones out there, sorry for pointing out the fact that the one guy was black, but it makes the story a lot funnier biggrin.gif )

My dad asks me every fucking day I've been home if I've seen "Evil Dead" or "Army of Darkness" or some movie along those lines....he loves that stuff.
That's so NA.

That sounds pretty awesome. I will try and go - how much is it to see a movie at that place anyway? I've only seen shows there...

I had a VHS tape of "Army of Darkness" but it was stolen from my house during a party at some point. I've been pissed off about it ever since. At least they didn't get my copy of Spinal Tap.

The 7:30 show was $7.25. I don't know if they have matinee prices.
