is this going to be in release in nashville?
anyone interested in seeing it?

it's not here, yet...but i plan on going even with the bit of apprehension i have toward the subject matter.

i'm frightened to see it, but curious as hell to see van sant's portrayal. i've appreciated most everything he's done so far...
i'd even go so far to say that i'm not sure "we" are ready for it, and i might even walk away a little offended.
i'd like to at least.

here's a link to the trailer if anyone is curious/hasn't heard about it yet.

I know a girl that's supposed to be an extra in a couple of scenes in that movie...

I'd go see it if I had the money to.
you're everybody's second home
always trying to get me alone
an easy way to lose it all
always there when all else fails
over by the west side rails

Saw Elephant tonight. I found it to be fantastic... it offers only facts, no attempts at answers, which many that I was with found frustrating. Any answer presented by a film only 4 years after an event like that, I think, would have been far more disappointing than the lack of an answer. Rather than skirt the issue entirely, I think the film implied that there simply is no easy answer to what causes this sort of thing, and I found that to be the most rewarding route they could have taken.

Stylistically, it is pretty amazing. Be ready for some very long shots, some as long as five minutes or more. It is slow, but beautiful. I also found it to be a rather accurate depiction of American high school. Stereotyped, but in all of the ways that hold true when you walk into a high school.

Certainly not for everyone. Indeed, not for most. But wonderful if it seems like your cup of tea.

You may like grandma's yard gnomes, but I've seen Rock City. Remember it.
