Anybody seen it? I heard it get's nationally distributed this Friday... I caught it when I was back home in Dallas last weekend.

It was much different than I thought it'd be, with lots of philosophical questions and discussions. Some really funny moments as well.

My parents completely hated it, which I understood completely. It's definetly not for everyone, and I can understand why it wasn't widely distributed at first.

You must choose. It is like that movie "Sofie's Choice" only it is Nathan's choice. Do you know that movie, "Sofie's Choice"? It is like that. Only it is this.

I saw it tonight. Highly original and offbeat, naturally. I thought Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin were great. And Jude Law was amazing as Brad, coming to his senses at the end. One could do a very keen analysis on the relationship of men from the film.

i loved it. marky mark finally won me over.
but i thought jude laws american accent was terrible, and he is much less attractive without the english accent... i do want to see that closer movie, though. and alfie... hes overexposed and i just dont care.

I saw it yesterday...it's a philisophical comedy...can't go wrong with that. I thought the opening scene where he reads the poem is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. I almost hyperventilated. "Rock....you rock..." hahaha...brilliant

I think the closest thing my theater is going to get is the poster, which is darn adorable. I'll have to venture off to a Regal theater to see it...

I thought it was great, and I've been let down by almost every other new movie I was excited about since Eternal Sunshine. Great acting, great premise, fantastic music. What I liked about it was that, although there was this interesting & sometimes bizarre thread about existentialism, ultimately the foundation of the movie was the characters' relationships. Too often, "deep" movies sacrifice character development in favor of the plot device/ underlying philosophy (see: Matrix). I also relish a movie where men have real friendships & real emotions attached to those friendships- way more honest than typical buddy movies or action movies.

Yeah, Jude's accent was pretty bad- did you notice that he started losing it around when he started being more emotional/ breaking down? Marky Mark rules me. My friend says he's gay with George Clooney.

I saw it last night at Hollywood 27. The theatre was almost entirely empty, but the ten or so of us that were there really enjoyed it. I like comedies that are smart, and this is certainly one of them. I know enough about existentialism and nihilism to make it through the numerous fast-talking summeries of how they feel at any given point. I really liked Naomi Watts, and her accent didn't lapse at all.
That's so NA.

now that i think about it, i think i have too. garden state almost won me over, but the ending was so cliche it ruined the whole thing for me.
