As you can see here Barbara Streisand will be starring in "Meet the Fockers." In other news, "Meet the Fockers" will suck.

And it was all so promising. sad.gif
Bill, it was a different time. It was back when we didn't know the Russians were incompetent.

So is Ben Stiller going to see a shrink this time, only to fall in love with her and in turn find new meaning to his life?

Maybe...

I've got a friend that works at the Tribeca office in New York and he's read all of the versions of a Meet the Fokkers script that they have on file. While he says that all of them suck, he insists that none suck so much as the current frontrunner in what the film will be. He's told me to set very, VERY low expectations. Alas.

I just found the first one to be boring and depressing.

Meet the Parents?!! I thought it was one of the best comedies of the last 10 years.

Sequels almost always suck, though, so I don't expect much from Meet the Fockers.

I absolutely loved Meet The Parents. I just read in my current issue of Entertainment Weekly that Babs is a possibility but a longshot. Hoffman is signed on already, though. I liked the idea that was circulating a while ago that Ben's real parents would be the Fokkers. That would have been good.

I'm still looking forward to this.

I think that Peter Jackson should direct Meet The Fockers.

You know, I did too, the first time I saw it. I have a bit of a problem with what I call "anxiety films"- where things go so wrong & it's supposed to be comical. It just makes me hurt on the inside & feel nervous. But now when I catch parts of the movie on TV or whatever, I think it's hilarious. It's like the total package was a little too much disaster for me, but the scenes on their own are funny. And, as stated before, any movie with Owen in it MUST be good.

Very Bad Things is a prime example. I HATED that movie. It also suffered from trying to play up the "when bad things happen to good people" sentiment, but you could never accept that these are remotely "good people."

Yeah, it is, but I strangely enjoyed that movie. I think because of exactly what you said- they were totally NOT good or normal people, so it was more acceptable.

That's exactly how I feel with those kind of movies! Couldn't have said it better (or as well) myself.
