What a truly dark and depressing movie!

I don't necessarily think the overall film was that great, but Charlize Theron's performance was quite simply one of the best I have ever witnessed on the silver screen. If anyone has ever deserved an Oscar, she surely does.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I saw it Friday and was totally blown away. The theater was nearly empty because 1. It was a matinee and 2. Everyone else went to go see "Passion." While I was completely blown away by Charlize Theron (I usually think of her from "The Devil's Advocate, so she's moved up considerably in my book), I really started thinking afterward about cycles of violence....I know it sounds very trite, but this isa true story, and those men actually died, this woman was actually abused as a child. It made me wonder how far back it goes, and how some people can spiral downward, while others have the capacity to somehow carry on.
That's so NA.

Sometimes, usually late at night, I think of her in Devil's Advocate. That's right before I cry myself to sleep. Well, not right before I go to sleep.

I loved Devil's Advocate.

"Let's mayke a baibee" (my attempt at writing a bad southern accent).
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.
