I watched half last night and was very underwhelmed. I will give it another go soon because I had heard good things. I don't know.

Yes, we stopped it halfway through last night. I predict heavy drinking to make it through the second half. It's like, "Ha! He's a loser." Maybe something will change my mind in the second half. If not, I'll enjoy the same joke told much, much better on season 2 of Strangers with Candy.

Don't worry if you don't get around to it. I shared your lack of interest, as discussed here this summer. I think there might be a generation gap- my 22 year old brother LOVES it, and I (26) and my husband (28) do not. Does this hold up?

That was my guess too -- that I was simply too old at (yikes!) 25 to find the gags funny. Maybe I'm wrong. Can there really be that big of a generation gap between 22 and 25???

Well....I am 28 and my husband is 32 and we both thought it was hilarious! I was actually reluctant at first about watching it (my hubby brought it home one night), but we both laughed our asses off. (Maybe it was the wine) I cracked up every time he talked. We just love stupid, pointless movies....I guess. biggrin.gif

Say what you want, but at the end, when they play tetherball to When In Rome's "The Promise," I got a lump in my throat.

Yes. We watched the second half tonight, and my opinion went way up. Now I need to watch it all again to decide if it was truly worth the $20.00 I spent on the DVD. It was one of those few movies which I missed at the theatre and decided to just go ahead and buy instead of rent due to the things I'd heard about it. The last movie I did that with was The Royal Tennenbaums. I had mixed feelings about that one the first time I watched it too. Now I am quite glad I own it.
