Is it an issue of overacting, or are there American accent problems?

By the way, I'm surprised how handsome he still is.

both really. there is one point where he is sobbing and it also sounds like he is singing...
the american accent problem could be overlooked if you think hey, maybe he is a semi-recent austrailian immigrant.

well, against better judgement i went and saw it today.

that movie blew.

*spoiler?*

the ending just didn't make any kind of sense to do with the rest of the movie. it didn't make you care about the villain at all... just sort of an 'oh... THAT guy?' kind of thing.

i can't believe i wasted 10 bucks on this.

10$?? what movie theater did you go to?
and ill agree with you that the ending ruined the movie. but the rest of the movie...well certain ideas were creative enough. the acting was horrible but it was a fun, squirmy, grossout movie. it had a pretty nice homage to evil dead 2 and you cant go wrong with that.

I saw this movie the other day and I thought it was really good. the only part I could complain about was that sometimes I thought the dialogue went completely by the script at times it was just rigid or something. But I really enjoyed the movie though it was pretty tricky. An nice ending though i thought I didn't expect it.

The acting wasn't superb, but I enjoyed this movie. We saw it for free, thanks to my birthday gift of movie passes. Actually, the passes were only for $10 off and the girl didn't read them right and let's just say we got in free and didn't say anything. We're naughty aren't we?!

I want to see it, along with a lot of other good movies, but I quit the theater last night. 17 months and 1 day was way too long to be employed there. Of course this happens when Alfie, Incredibles, and Bridget Jones come out. And there's also talk of us getting Life Aquatic. Oh well...

If you have to pay for them, wait on Bridget Jones 2 and Alfie. They both are renters.

My friends and I snuck into Saw last night (we bought tickets for, ugh...National Treasure), and we saw from about the point of the two guys waking up in the room with the corpse in the middle up until the part where the detectives are doing crap in the guy's flashback. Then we got kicked out. blink.gif

I'll take your word for it and assume it sucks, but I don't want to read any spoilers on it because I still want to see the rest (the part I saw was pretty endearing, at least moreso than Nat'l Treasure, which turned out to be one of the most bizarre/crappy movies I've ever seen...we couldn't help but break out laughing everytime someone yelled "They're going to steal the Declaration of Independence!"), but someone just give me a yes or no answer to this: was the blond surgeon-guy's assistant (the one who comes in during the flashback and compliments a patient on his kidney or something strange like that) the guy who did all the kidnappings/killings? If so, screw that movie...that was wayyy too obvious.

I rented this the other night. The bad acting/accent and complete lack of depth from Glover's character aside, I thought it was a highly entertaining movie. I was totally creeped (and grossed) out. Although not as good, I can definitely see the comparisons to Se7en.

I especially liked how they made you think we were appraoching a very obvious ending and then turned it around on us a couple of times in the last 5 minutes. Nice twist!

(spoiler)

Yeah we just watched it at out house last night too. I did like the ending, but it was indeed very unrealistic. I mean, the guy would have had to remain perfectly still for what, seven hours?

Oh yeah, the acting was bad. I didn't think the two main characters were cast very well anyway though.

I thought it was good enough for the kind of movie I was wanting to see. I kept going back in the video store to Cube but it kept getting vetoed (along with Alien vs. Predator) so I was pleased it was along the same lines.

Enjoyed seeing Cary Elwes again...kept waiting for "as you wish."

Would have been a scream if the Sicilian was behind it all.
