Interesting that last year's champ loses here. I think this also may be the best that Thursday has ever done.

Maybe the whole "Should 'Thursday' be retired?" idea made people realise how much they love the song....on a un-related-related note, I played The Features for my mom last night and then she said she wanted to download "She-Bop" after listening to "Darkroom." And she did.
That's so NA.

I thought the same thing so I did a bit of research...

In 2002, "Thursday" was a #1 seed, but it lost in the Sweet Sixteen to fourth-seeded "Circus" by a score of 7 to 2. (I was probably one of the two.) "Circus" went on to win that tournament.

Last year, "Thursday" was seeded sixth, and it lost by one vote in the second round to "Someway, Somehow," which was seeded third.

As Miss 9 has suggested, I think the recent discussion about "Thursday" has rekindled some nostalgia for this long-time favorite. Hopefully it will be enough to catapult it into the Final Four. I think this is truly one of the quintessential Features songs, and it's time for it to receive proper recognition as such.

I don't get what's so good about Harder to Ignore. Maybe there's some really awesome part in the middle that I skipped because of the crappy intro, but I doubt it. (And yes, I dislike the intro so much that I don't even want to investigate)

I felt the same way up until a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if they sang it differently or not, but it blew me away for the very first time.

Yeah, "Harder to Ignore" is the song when it comes to current Features setlists. It is an amazing little song and I think it has a fair shot at winning this.

NEW JERSEY:
(1) The Beginning
(2) God Save Rock'n'Roll
It's odd that I must choose between these now, since these are the two songs I felt that I HAD to hear the other night. I actually think I told misguided fool that, too.
Am I a dork, because I am thinking too hard about my votes? I've been debating here in silence for at least 5 minutes now.

Tho I'd not say you're a dork for it, that is very different from me. I look at the two and whatever I feel in that instant gets my vote. Thought would complicate it too much.

I do the same as Wiyum. This year, if I've had to think about it, I usually just go with the under dog.

I'm really impressed with the response. Let's keep it up y'all!! I'm very impressed with how the seeding has held up with a good bit of upsets for a little spice.

JC, have I told you lately that I love you?
