word on the street is that they have a cd burner that can be used or you can patch a dat or something into the board. if someone records it i'd love a copy. i have some stuff to trade.

I think I saw three different people taping the show. We just recorded the audio. (We didn't go off the soundboard, though. I think the sound guy at 12th & Porter is a jerk.)

What did everyone think of the show?

i didn't tape it. i couldn't find an outlet upstairs.
i saw one girl with a camera in the very front, but it looked as if she was only taping matt.

i missed alot of the show, but what i saw was niiicccceeee.

i was the one taping but i wasn't just taping matt. i got them all. it has a wide angle view on it so i could see roger and rollum almost the whole time and i got a lot of parrish too. and i had talked to matt about it beforehand because rory told me it would be good to tape a show for what we are trying to do. and matt said 'oh yeah, i dont mind at all' and afterward even asked me if i got everything i needed. we're making a promotional video for our campus since we are having them come to campus later this year.

ok so i was introduced to eno by my goddamn screen name, but nevertheless, i have met the man, the mystery. i do not know if i saw the infamous ryan norris, but i think i've got down who this 'keith' person is. and if i may go on record with a little gushing, that was a mother fucking rock show. i went through two packs of cigarettes, five rolls of film, i was dripping in sweat and my whole body hurt when i got up today. hands down my favorite features show, maybe my favorite anybody show. the lead guitar on my tyger was exhaustingly good, and personal whatevers aside, the bass playing was impeccable. and character, who i can't seem to cry up enough, has managed to exceed my capacity for wonder, as i will fall down and thank somebody's god for giving me ears.
please, that lineup must happen again.

I agree. I've always thought that guy to be an asshole, but he was really nice to me.

Whoa!  I NEED to get a copy of this promotional video and/or the entire show.  Let me know how this can happen.  Also, what do you mean that you're 'bringing the Features to campus'?

The sound guy recorded the Features' set on CD-R, but I think Rory keeps such things for 'the archive.'

i go to lipscomb university, which is desperately in need of some good music, and so i'm setting up a benefit in the spring with a couple of bands from school opening for the features. the only problem is, it might have to be on a wednesday night.. i dont know how people are going to feel about that though. it would be good to get some feedback about that from those of you on this message board....

featuresgirl, what did you think about the last DLU Features show?  I was there.  There were alot of people there, but I didn't know or recognize any of them.  I assume they were Lipscomb students, how did they like it?  I am a fan of the Features playing there if for no other reason than it's really close to my apartment.

Is the DLU show locked down for a Wednesday? My suggestion would be to try as hard as possible to get a weekend date, that way we out-of-towners have a shot at catching it.

yeah i really wish that we could get a weekend date. it's just that the school is really obnoxious about stuff. we have a theater on campus that we use and it is booked for almost every time that i am trying to get the features in there... i want to get it on a friday or saturday like the 6th, 12th or 13th of april.. but the thing is there are all these loopholes, like if there is something else on campus, we can't hold it because that would take away from the other program and we need our SGA money to pay the band cause it would be a benefit concert.. so... almost all the other days are taken. and the theater is reserved for every single thursday for the rest of the year... so i dont know what to do.
about the last show, the problem was that it was kind of a last minute decision on date and stuff, and the word didn't really get out so it was not as big as it should've been. they played an incredible show but without having a wide fan base that would have gotten the word, it took away a lot of the crowd. if there was a way for me to get the theater on like april 6 or something, it would be great, but it would be really great if the people on this message board and others could help spread the word. i still gotta go through a lot of red tape, but i'll keep everyone posted.
by the way, do all of you think i'm stupid now for taping the show? and why didn't any of you come talk to me? I seriously was getting this promo stuff. and if you want a copy of the video, then you will see it's not all matt. yeah, he's my favorite. but i'm not gonna just tape him. that would be 'wack' as you say...

Thu-Fri-Sat are the best days of the week for shows, and I think most people would agree. But you've gotta do what you've gotta do. Again I say that I would love a copy of the promotional video and/or the whole show.

i went to the last david lipscomb show, i hauled out my friends, and while the features were of course excellent the venue was terrible. there was like a total of nobody there, with the only regular fan being mr./ms. jamiecarroll, who wouldn't even talk to me at the show. oh and there was some guy sporting a rather stylish afro who was doing jumping jacks in the front. if possible, wait until spring and do an outdoor show, i went to one of those at dlu and it was significantly better than in that theater. also, i won't attend anymore shows where i can't fucking have a cigarette.
just my input. honestly, i'm just trying to up my pathertic numbers so that i can be atlast a junior member.

well freezetag, i'm sorry. it's not my fault that lipscomb has a smoke-free policy on campus. but if rollum can deal with it, i think you should too in order to have the pleasure of seeing them again. and as i already explained, there was almost no advertisement ahead of time and not any organization, which i also explained would be fixed. even if there is an outside show, there is still a smoke free policy. it is what it is, i just want to have a show on campus... the only place that we can do it is in that theater. i promise this one would be better than last time, i just can't make guarantees that it's going to please you. i'm just trying to do the best i can do with what i have.

Hey Featuresgirl-

I thought that dlu show back in the fall was pretty awesome. Why? The Features played. No band nearly as cool as the Features ever came to my school. For whatever hand you had in bringing them -- good job. I look forward to seeing them at dlu in the spring.

smokers are irrelevant. they should tax those things $10 a pack. they have no regard for other peoples' health and they drain money from health care.

actually, some are considerate but not many.

i'm allergic as well and going in for my second surgery due to my congestion problems next month. if people just knew, they would be kind enough to hold the cigarette away from you (again, some do).
