TOPIC: 1999 Halloween Bash

So today I started listening to the Katies show from that Halloween and how it was one of the great Murfreesboro shows of all time (such as the show tonite which sadly enough I won't get to see). Having both the Self and Katies sets posted online, I was wondering if anyone had the Features set from this show they would be willing to share. It would be really nice to be able to have this entire show.

I've looked all around for that show since that night (I was there), and no one seems to have it. If someone here has it, I doubt they'd share.

It was the only time I remember hearing them play "Like a Virgin."

Well I figured the same person who recorded the Self and Katies sets might've recorded the Features that night as well.

I don't think that anyone here has it because none of the people who are big recorders were fans then. Blightman may be an exception, but he doesn't have it. I repeatedly pestered michael (the administrator of spongebathrec.com and now the administrator here) for it, and he said he didn't have it.

That's a shame, the show may never be complete.

I was there. I was at the one in 1998, too, when the Features played after the Ounces and Self (and I didn't stick around sad.gif ).

The Features were dressed up as dead rock stars in 1999, right? Pelham was Buddy Holly. Parrish was Liberace? Am I dreaming? I know that the Katies were dressed as ZZ Top and Self were dressed as "pro wrestlers." I also know that that was probably the last time I ever heard "Like a Virgin."

I remember asking around a lot a long time ago, and I think the official word is The Features' set was never recorded. Definitely a shame, since although I wasn't there (I was about 10 or 11 at the time), I'm pretty sure it was probably the greatest Murfreesboro show ever. Spongebath was at its peak (or was at least in the final chapter of its "glory days," just before the fanbase began to unwind), and three of its best bands played some truly monumental sets (Self's best ever recorded, hands down) to what seems to be an extremely receptive crowd (just listen to the audience involvement on the Self bootleg).

I wish this was videotaped...
