TOPIC: 3 New Features Songs
Posted  Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 12:47 PM
Post 1 of 29
I uploaded the 11-08-03, 12th & Porter versions of the three new songs to the mp3 site. They're 96 kb/s instead of my usual 320 kb/s, since I figured the only way to successfully upload them was to make them smaller. Look in the proper venue and date category. The newest of the new songs is "Untitled 2", the one previously played at the Inferno Bar is "Untitled", and Love Is Golden is there as well.

Harder To Ignore from the 10-02-03 Inferno Bar show is now also on the site.

I don't remember Pelham screaming like that during Harder to Ignore, but whatever...it's awesome! And you can actually hear Roger singing during the chorus. Thanks, man.

After listening to the first Untitled song as heard at the Inferno Bar, the most prominent phrase is "Chemical Head", which is said numerous times. At 12th & Porter, it was still in the song a handful of times, but not with the same frequency as the previous. So...

I move that we call it "Chemical Head," at least until another title is given, or the lyrics change significantly enough to warrant a new title. Do I hear a second?

I definitely second that. So, there's "Love Is Golden", "Chemical Head", and what's the newest one being called?

i think we should stick with "Failed Attempt at a New Song." it seems to be working well so far.

so, in order of premiere they would be:
"Chemical Head"
"Love is Golden"
"Failed Attempt at a New Song"

I just like the awkward length of "Failed Attempt At A New Song." It's kinda like "There's A Million Ways To Sing The Blues (And This Ain't One Of Them)" before it was shortened...

Perhaps we should hold a little vote for the official word?

At present, for those who have clearly cast their votes, it stands:

Failed Attempt - 2 [Wiyum, me]
Failed Attempt at a New Song [Digsy]

What was it shortened to? I'll change its entry in the discography (when I add Chemical Head and Failed Attempt).

haven't we had this discussion before? no, i'm thinking of "idea of growing old" vs. "growing old." i think it's just however they feel like introducing the song. i don't think it matters. both get the point across.

Since it's debut, it has been introduced as simply "There's A Million Ways To Sing The Blues." I haven't heard him include the "(And This Ain't One Of Them)" part since he introduced it for the first time.
