TOPIC: A Request

I am working on an idea and need some Features posters. Lots of them preferabbly, but definetly alot more than none. I can only assume that the loyal Features fans of this board have collected some of the posters for shows along the road at some point in time. Doesn't matter what show, doesn't really even matter if they were headlining (though it would be nice) but if there is any way to get some digital versions of those posters, it would be quite appreciated. Email me or just post them in this thread.

Hooray for Michael, our quiet and rarely-visiting administrator!!! We love you, man. I'll see what I can find.

I have some posters, but no way of making them digital. (I'm assuming you mean scanning them, but most of mine are too big for a scanner). Let me know if I can still help.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

If you have a digital camera, you could use it to digitize the poster. Just be sure you get the proper lighting when taking the picture.

Back home we call these flyers. Posters are what you buy at Wal-Mart for $6.99. Usually they contain Britney Spears.

Yes yes.. semantics. I feel that it's a poster if it's of a certain size, and it's a flyer if it's not. I.E. I have posters that I have purchased from Aesthetic Apparatus that are promoting shows, but do not think of them as flyers mearly because they are so big.

Irregardless.. point taken.

AND a big thank you.. that's one down, and I believe Brian said he'd send me another, and I may have some old Spongebath one's buried away in the attic. The more the merrier for sure.

If you are unable to scan or take a digital picture of your flyers/posters - that's okay, I'll figure something out.

I have quite a few also, let me know how I can help.

I can email an electronic version of the large flyer for the last Exit/In show. (I also have a .bmp of that same image modified to be a desktop wallpaper if anyone wants one.)

p.s. HeyitsBriggs, what can I do to get a copy of that flyer? I want it, I want it, I want it.

Yea, email anything and everything.. I'm not picky at this point.

And your desktop image may also come in handy with what I am working on. What is the most common screen resolution that most of you are running? I'm kickin a mighty 1600x1200 but I am pretty sure that's a bit on the rare side of things... is most everyone else 1024? 800? 1280?

I'm a 1280 guy... but I'm also a geek so my vote doesn't count.

I'd also like to congratulate michael on making his fiftieth post. It's about freakin' time!

I stick with the 1024 at home because that's what I have at work (actually it's 2048 X 762, dual 21's baby)

Hey, just cause I don't speak up a bunch doesn't mean I'm not reading along! I'm the quiet kid who smirks at the conversation but never really has that much to add.

And I think once you guys see the finished product of what I'm working on, you'll be pleased.

I just e-mailed you guys. But did you want a scan of it or a real life photocopy?

1152 x 864 ... a resolution so obscure, its indie, man.

FFF,

You tried to link a file off your hard drive which won't work. You'll need to put it up on a web server somewhere and link it from there or just email it to Michael.

I have one from a show where they opened up for Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire...it's a poster, i'd say, b/c of it's thickness...not sure if you're interested b/c they weren't headlining it, but their name is just as big as the headlining band.
Why would you do that?

Like I said.. I'm not picky. I'd love to have a look at anything and everything with the Features name on it. That doesn't mean it'll make the final cut to what I'm working on.. but it never hurts to have an abundance of source material to work from.
