So I was just listening to all of my Features cds in preparation for Dancin' in the District when I realized that maybe I'm missing something. Here's what I have, with songs listed:

The Features EP
Armani Suede
Attention
Button My Shirt
That's Me
Waffle House Menu
Roger's Theme
Hey Lou

Spongebath Sampler 1
The Anti-Gravity Class of '93
Radio One

Spongebath Sampler 2
Engine Debris
Paid to Think

Thursday/Rabbit March
Thursday
Rabbit March

A 5 Song Demo EP
Serious
Demons
Armani Suede (new recording)
Kari Anne
Darkroom

The Beginning EP
Stark White Stork Approaching
Walk You Home
Bumblebee
The Beginning (Week One)
Two by Two

So what is missing? Is this, for all intents and purposes, the official discography of The Features?

Pumped for Wednesday, see many of you there,

Will

Wow. So I put all of the album titles inside of brackets (three opening and three closing) to differentiate between them and the songs listed, and the titles went away. So the releases listed above, in this order, are as follows:

The Features EP
Spongebath Sampler #1
Spongebath Sampler #2
Thursday/Rabbit March
5 Song Sampler EP
The Beginning EP.

Sorry bout that.

I think what you are referring to as the '5 song sampler EP' is actually part of the legendary 'Mahaffey Sessions' though you are missing a few songs and it wasn't really an official release. The only other thing I would call official is the '33 and 1/3' CD from those same sessions that was handed out at a show or two (I got one at that Next Generation show a few months back).

Correct me if I'm wrong, not that I really have to ask.

Oh, and if we are talking about ALL of The Features' recordings, not just the official stuff, then there is plenty to add to your lists. Off the top of my head is the recent Leave It All Behind and rumored God Save Rock and Roll session, 'The Raulings Recordings' featuring early versions of Kari-Ann, Demons, See You Through, et al.,  and there are some really old recordings of Circus, Treehouse Club, Your Smile, and other stuff from various sessions.

I'm sure someone that isn't me could give you an exhaustive list, but the point is, they've recorded a lot of stuff.

Thanks for the heads up to some stuff that I'm missing. Anyone able to name the tracks on the releases that I'm missing (or the tracks that I am missing from the Matt Mahaffey sessions?). I'd be most grateful.

'Matt Mahaffey sessions' (that I have):
Serious
Darkroom
Exorcising Demons
Kari-Ann
Armani Suede
See You Thru
Jurley
33 1/3
Oh My Love
Paid to Think

Other studio recordings:
'The Mississippi Album':
D-Con
Anti-Gravity
Paid to Think
Engine Debris
Thursday
Rabbit March
Extension Cord
Treehouse Club
Your Smile
Roger's Theme
That's Me

Some of these songs ended up as the 'Thursday' single, and others ended up on the Spongebath sampler, and others have never been officially released.

Also, other random studio recordings:
33 1/3
Circus

These were both done with the old lineup.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Do you have a studio recording of 'Discotheque'? I've found it in a version titled 'I Wanna Go Home' but it's live.

The song, as far as I know, is called 'Discotheque.' There is a studio version from the Rawlings recordings.

7. Discotheque (precursor to Temporary Blues)
Because I'm a musical retard, I never made this connection... but now that you mention it, they do sound very similar.  I always thought this was a 'one off' song that was only played live a couple of times.  I was quite surprised to learn that a studio version exists.

There's one section of both songs that is exactly the same (except lyrics):

'I wanna go home,
I wanna go home'

became...

'I've got the temporary blues,
You can help me if you choose'

The other parts of the songs are different.  For the record, I like Temporary Blues much better.
