I hadn't heard. I was wondering when I'd next get to see the Features.

The question at hand-- is it worth sitting through Lucky Guns to see the Features? Once for that band was enough.

Bearheat, do you want the bad news or the good news first?

OK, well, the bad news is that the Boro is what some would call a 'dive bar.'  I personally love going to shows there, but it's definitely a bar and sometimes the sound is not the greatest.

The good news is that the Features usually play for longer at the Boro than they do at any other venue, so you really get your money's worth.  And they sometimes play songs there that you don't get to hear very often.  The Boro is definitely the Features' 'home court.'  The place is usually packed for their shows there - mostly with college-age kids, and the crowd is usually very into the show.  The Features don't usually start at the Boro until AT LEAST 10:30.

I don't think the Boro is a dive bar - just because the sound is not the greatest doesn't make it a dive bar - they have a great great beer selection - dive bars do not have New Castle, Bass, and Sierra Nevada all on tap and Sammy Smith's in the bottle with many other imports to pick from- if you want a real dive bar you can go down the street to gentleman jim's I think all they have is PBR and bud, bud light - now the pool tables at the boro suck but they do have 3 or 4 of them and they have 2 dart boards and outdoor patio and many tvs - the food is not half bad either (for bar food)

my .02 cents

i'll agree with blightman. it's dirty and small, but that's part of the charm. the biggest downfall is that bands have to bring their own pa. instruments without mics sound pretty good in there. better than sebastian's or the red rose.
Nothin' gets in my way....Not even locked doors!

thank you jamiecarroll, you answered my question- and the good news by far out weighs the bad. and since i am not going there to a) play pool b)throw darts or c) eat, it should be a damn good show (although i am sure all the amenities are sound- i am not knocking another town's bar- just why would you do any of that while the features are playing?).

personally i think the boro is one fo th best venues i've been to. the sound might not be the best in the world...but there are ways you can get round it. plus its in walkign distance from mtsu so i dont have to drive to it or worry about transportation......and the beer selection very excellent!!!!!!!!!!

There you go, take advantage of family. Actually, I'm sure he'll be real upset that he might have to party before the show.

I'm sorta sad to miss it...but I'd rather not suffer through Lucky Guns again. So I'm here at 10:35 on a Friday night and about to head to bed.

Stupid career keeps me from playing anymore.

Personally, I really liked the Lucky Guns, but I can see how other people wouldn't dig it, especially with some of the opinions expressed on here in the past.

The Features were brilliant as usual, but I think I prefer the environment of the Red Rose. I would also have liked them to have played more songs.

I also noticed that people kept begging for Thursday... WHY? You know they'll play it last, so why encourage them to play it?
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.
