TOPIC: Best Matt Pelham guitar solo

I still say that when I come to this board, I like to talk about, you know, the Features. So here is another question for discussion:

In which song does Matt Pelham have the coolest guitar solo?

What do you think of his "scripted" solos in general?

Discuss.

I love the solo in "Stagecoach" and I also love the guitar part during the, I guess one could call it a 'breakdown', of "Million Ways To Sing The Blues." There are very few Features songs with solos in them, when one thinks about it.

Matt can't really solo, I don't think. Which is fine, we don't want them to turn into cock rockers. I've noticed that when a song is in its infancy sometimes they don't know what to do in the middle yet, so they put in a solo.. and it is usually just something really simple. If he can do really flashy things on a guitar, he keeps it to himself.

After going through some songs I guess my favorite would be "Stagecoach".. and there is kinda one in "The Beginning".

Oh, btw, I didn't want to sit through every song to find it so I speed them all up and I must say that the Alvin & the Chipmunks style "Circus" is very amusing.

We've done Matt & Roger.. I think it's Rollum's turn.

As a fan of guitar skronk, I lean toward Serious and Circus.

I like the Beginning solo if only for when I saw and recorded a show when it was fairly new back in Nov 2000. The solo sounds just as it does on the record, it's just that Matt did a somersault while he was playing the solo.

I thought you were kidding at first then I remembered the Exit In clips where there is some rolling around during GSR&R. A rock star AND a gymnast. Impressive.

I just remembered the 'solo' in "Dark Room." I love that piece of work. Wow. And for the longest time, I thought the solo in "GSRnR" was a guitar, but it eventually dawned on me that it was the work of Parrish. Huh.

I think it'd be great (in a funny way) if GSRnR had a super fast tap solo on it (even if they had to bring in a guest like Mike Mahaffey to play it).

Speaking of cock rockers, I'd love to see another Dirtty Trixx show.

I think trying to figure out a favorite Parrish or Rollum moment from the whole Features cannon would be too difficult a task.

I'm not too sure about which is the absolute best solo, but my favorite guitar sound is featured in "Darkroom" (ah, so beautiful) , and the "Circus" solo is probably second.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

I take it back. It's not a solo but my favorite guitar "piece" is the beginning of "Temporary Blues"
