Today is the day that the band leaves to go to Mississippi to record the album.....

I wish them nothing but the best, and I hope that their time spent there is very productive. Good luck you guys and have a good time.

(and dont let "blow it out" be the single.....)

I doubt that'll be determined in the initial recording sessions.

Swaying a little bit off topic, my favorite story for recording sessions is how Counting Crows rent out a big house in Hollywood, set up there, and live there for a month or two while they record.

well, i wish the band the most luck i've ever wished anyone in my entire life. luck traveling down there, luck with the mississippi life, luck with being away from loved ones...not luck recording, they don't need that. i'm really excited that they're in the studio, though i'll still selfishly miss them playing shows here. and also, have fun, guys.

I'm sure Mississippi is great for that, too.

Does anyone know where they'll be recording in Mississippi? Which town? I'm just curious; I'm not a crazed stalker or anything.

I was actually wondering the same thing TF. I grew up in Vicksburg/Jackson Mississippi and my curiosity is getting the best of me.

Whatever they pick (aside from "blow it out") , people will love it and I'm almost sure they will not be a one hit wonder.

However, if I had to pick one song for them to be "known" as it would be... uhh wait, haven't we already discussed this 100,000 times already in one form or another?

on second thought... there may be something to this, if by chance they were a one hit wonder or just had one huge song that stood out. I'd like it to be "theres a million ways to sing the blues" that way it's really too long for people to rename the band w/it. And if they tried it just sounds dumb, so yea, I'll shut up for a while....

Further updates:

The storms and the damage in Jackson delayed their arrival by at least 7 hours and they've had some storms to interupt recording this week. They've recorded two songs already and plan to come home for a few days due to the fact that Oxford (which is where they are recording) is going to be very crowded thanks to graduation this weekend. The Features won't have a place to stay for those nights so they're taking an early break and will return early next week. Sounds like things are moving forward as well as can be expected.

Should have a goodie or two to put up on the site next week (yes, another carot).

stupid graduates (*that reside in oxford)... dry.gif

i speculate that the two songs that they have recorded are "exhibit a" and "your smile." i'm glad things seem to be moving along for them.
