yes, i know this should go into the misc. section, but hey, they are touring together....

i just recieved a copy of the most recent andrew bird's bowl of fire disc "the swimming hour" and dear god, is it amazing! i'd never been exposed to this man's brilliance before today. he's truly an amazing songwriter, composer and singer-his band kicks much as as well. i hope this transfers well to the stage when the they tour with our boys. jamiecarroll-you would especially dig this. go buy it.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

LW...I'm so glad to hear that BoF is great, because I'm going to be seeing a lot of them. I'm sure I'll get that album at some point before the tour starts.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I agree & I had actually never heard them until I happened to go to their show last year @ the Slow Bar. They blew me away, which was even more significant to me since it was a live show of a band I'd never heard. Andrew Bird vaguely reminds me of Jeff Buckley, but really is too unique to classify. His drummer is AMAZING- I think kind of a bigwig in the jazz world? Oh! The Grandeur is also a good record, but the Swimming Hour is by far the best.

I finally heard two songs by them last nite. I must say that they are quite nice...I'm interested to see how the Features will do and with the setlists that they've been doing, I'm contemplating a journey to see them...darnit...

Awright!

I'm glad you guys like Andrew Bird so far. I was going to post a really long description before, but I'm glad that you just went and heard for yourselves. All I can say is that their live shows are a hundred times better than the studio recordings. His supplemental singer, Nora O'Connor, has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard. His best work (in my opinion) is the ultra new stuff he hasn't even released yet, so you all are in for a treat. He's been holding a new CD or an EP over our heads for about a year and a half now.

If you search Kazaa or WinMX, you might find some of his older stuff, which is mainly jazz. Soon as I get my ducks in a row, I'll try to get some live mp3's up online somewhere soon...hopefully before the tour.

Is it alright to upload on the features' mp3 site, or should it be somewhere else?

This sounds somehow familiar...
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

If you're referring to my web page, go for it. I never planned to have a "Features MP3 site" per se. That does seem to be what it has become, however. (I'm not complaining. I'm really glad that people are using it, and who here doesn't like the Features?)

In any case, feel free to post anything you would like to share. Keep in mind that files more than one week old are likely to be deleted from the server every Monday.

It would seem that a poll was recently created to determine the answer to that very question.

Which poll is that? Oh, never mind. I see it now.
