TOPIC: Bringing Back Songs
Posted  Monday, July 8, 2002 at 12:31 PM
Post 1 of 51
The question at hand is this: What songs would you bring back at The Features' shows if you could? Rank up to the top five that you would want to hear at shows again. Here is my list:

1. The Design
2. D-Con (Radio One)
3. Anti-Gravity Class of '93
4. Your Smile
5. Discotheque or Temporary Blues

Let me note that this list may be amended at some point. These are just the songs that I would love to see them play. I am interested in all of your answers.

Having seen them once, its hard for me to comment. But looking at some of the recent setlists...

1. Engine Debris
2. D-Con (Radio One)
3. Paid to Think
4. Roger's Theme
5. Hey Lou

They still play 'The Design' and 'Temporary Blues' fairly regularly.

As for my list:

01 Don't Lie to Me
02 Roger's Theme
03 Disco (not Discotheque)
04 Laid
05 Your Smile

1-Don't Lie
2-Burma (only once so far this year??)
3-Anti-Gravity Class of '93
4-Harold (also only once I think)
5-Psycho Santa

I'd love to hear Rabbit March, though it wouldn't be a resurrection since I don't think it was ever played live? Not sure though.

I remember a long time ago my friend said that they put on a great live show and that once they all performed in rabbit costumes. For some reason I accepted it, but I hadn't considered it, other than confirmation when "Rabbit March" was the B-side to Thursday. Did this actually happen to anyone's knowledge, because I'm now very skeptical...

In no order

Treehouse Club
Rabbit March
Disco (not discotheque)
Roger's Theme
Grapevine

I wouldn't mind hearing the Design occasionally, but I was never a huge fan of that one. Sorry.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

It's true. I personally did not see it, but I know people who did. By the way, they weren't just rabbit costumes, they were pink rabbit costumes.

Recordings exist of "Psycho Santa"

Top 5 songs I miss

Jurley
Radio One
Your Smile
Stay Together
Hey, Lou

I'd rather they just be saved for sets every now and then than become staples in Features sets.

Santa Claus and Santa's Bitch were actually part of 'Psycho Santa'.

PS - What would one have to do to obtain a copy of Psycho Santa, YDDD?

I saw the show that they dressed up like rabbits. They opened for Self in 1996 at 328, and it was the first time I had ever heard of the Features. They were all in white easter bunny costumes as I recall. Some of the guys wore masks or ears. I just remember seeing them crowd surf in bunny costumes was hilarious.

Rabbit March, like all the other songs from the Miss album and Thrusday single etc were played when Don Sergio was in the line-up. The band scrapped most of their back catalog when Don left. The notable ones that they kept and occasionally (or often or always) play are Circus, 33 1/3, Thursday, and Paid to Think. There might be another one I'm not rhinking of.

The second or third time I saw them, there were all of abot 10 people at the Boro, and the band hadn't planned a set. All audience members were friends of the band, and they yelled out songs for them to play. One of those was "Rabbit March", and Matt said, "We haven't played it since we lost a guitarist." They then played it.

As for the recording in question, just e-mail me.

The first Features show I ever saw the entire band (at least the ones who were standing) were dressed in band uniforms and somebody, perhaps Roger, played an instrument involving an egg. Very vague memories... but fun.

So wow... this actually finally happened. The band brought back alot of songs they hadn't played in a long time. Many of my picks were played, even though they wouldn't remotely be the picks I'd make now. But the band played those too.

Who would have thought that it would happen?

Don't ask me how I stumbled on suich an old post.

2- Moonlight (becoming too much of a rairity)
3- Burma
4- Don't Lie to Me
5- Harold

I wish I could hear more PAID TO THINK!!! It sounded so damn polished at the show that it shouldn't be a challenge. Ok, Features? smile.gif

I would also like to hear more:

Your Smile
Burma
Serious
Jurley (Just 'cause it's fun, ya know)

When it comes to the Features, though, I am usually content with any show I go to because they all rock.
