TOPIC: Edited Live Songs

I got these songs from the Mp3 site. But I have trimmed as much of the crowd noise and dead space off of the recordings as possible. Also, I have adjusted the volume level to better hear the band. Please let me know if someone would like these uploaded to the Mp3 site or sent to them. While they are still not studio quality, they sound quite a bit better than the original. The songs I've worked on are: Action, Exhibit A, Circus, Moonlight, Damage Is Done, and God Save Rock N Roll.
Have a good one,
Jack

I put them up. They still aren't perfect, but I changed what I could. They are near the middle of the page in a group together. Have a good one, later,
Jack

I've really never gotten much off of the mp3 site. I usually prefer entire bootlegs, not a sampling of songs. The recordings, especially those of Blightman, are encoded at a level that doesn't do justice to what he recorded. One reason I'm a bad bootleg trader is that I spend a week or two cleaning up the whole thing, and so it delays trading and such. (The time I spend on them also contributes to why I don't post them for free on that site).

Nonetheless, good job.

I've never had to spend longer than 3 or 4 hours splitting tracks, adjusting volume, etc. on entire bootlegs. What takes you so long? Do you make love to them for a few days before you get around to working on them?

To make a good bootleg, you gotta treat it like a lady....

Seriously though, one reason is that I do it in between a hectic schedule. I use that average also because I've traded for bootlegs with other people, and they'll have recorded it in a very low quality something or other. Then it takes a lot longer to make it sound good. The ones I've made probably would total up to somewhere near that.

Just so the hallowed name of blightman isn't tarnished, it's my fault that his recordings are uploaded at mediocre quality. My saving program only saves .wavs, so I use a free wav---> mp3 encoder & that's where it starts to go downhill. Better than nothing, but definitely sub-par.

Actually, the best tools that you can use are free! I highly recommend LAME for encoding MP3 files. For a thorough study on how to create the highest quality MP3 files, I will once again recommend r3mix.net (although it seems to be down at the moment).
