Eno:
i understood the first couple of times you posted on here that you wanted to make a statement about what music you like and dislike. But, enough with your friggin' 'relevant' and 'irrelevant' categories in your signature. it's just enough...who are YOU to tell us what music is relevant or not? it seems more than a tad pretentious. are you actually delusional enough to think that not  a SINGLE record post-1987 (besides Air) has been important? Hey i got news for you dude...99% of the public could give a flying piss about roxy music, kraftwerk, brian eno, devo, the clash, pere ubu, john cale, etc...in fact, i'd venture to say that a majority of the populace doesn't even know who the hell you're talking about. don't tell us what's irrelevant and/or relevant anymore. please, spare us.

I'll have to spring to eno's aid here. I understand that he can be a bit overbearing and a tad forceful with his opinions, but I for one happen to agree with him on occasion and I give a piss about all of those bands that you so handily dismissed.

I doubt eno's musical tastes are swayed by the public's
opinion. I'm sorry if yours are. I should point out that over 99% of the public has no idea who The Features are. It's absurd to call someone pretentious just because you don't get(or like)their sense of humor.
Stop taking everything so seriously.

My feelins is hurt. Tell your cousin Franz O'Malley that the german-irish aren't welcome here just like the greek-irish. Where are the nazis when you need them?

See? You're not gonna get me angry because the internet is not the real world. But wouldn't it be ironic if I was actually one of the features and you were criticizing me for posting my opinions on my own message board!? But wouldn't it be ironic if YOU were one of the features and I asked you wouldn't it be ironic if I was actually one of the features? But wouldn't it be even more ironic if I was one of the features because I asked you if it would be ironic if you were one of the features and I asked you wouldn't it be ironic if I was actually one of the features?

But, just for you Mr. O'Malley, I decided it was time to change the signature again.

It seems you do not know what a signature is. You fill it out in your profile and it automatically posts at the end of each message.

Children, children. My thoughts:

just because brianeno2 has a music taste that is unlike 99% of the world doesn't make him wrong. I happen to enjoy all of the bands he lists as relevant. I also don't think that because you enjoy obscure music you are pretentious. I used to be of that opinion but as I have gotten into obscure music I have found that the 'pretentious' stigma surrounding 'artsy' pop rock is simply a cop out for those who don't understand non-accessible music.
BUT, I do agree that brianeno2 could be more tactful in his postings here. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting mr. eno2 (that I know of), and i don't want to burn a bridge in what could turn out to be a delightful aquaintance. In other words, take this with a grain of salt. Mr. eno2's posts teeter on the edge of buffoonish. I welcome his comic releif on this board (the above 'ironic' bit was hilarious and brilliant), but I hope he can keep it positive and not fall into the hole that makes the internet unenjoyable: lashing out from an ivory tower behind a faceless and nameless identity of unaccountability in 'the real world.'

again, just my humble opinion.

Well put, sir, well put. I enjoy your perspective, why don't you post here more often?

What you see as buffoonish and not being tactful is what I see as you still not getting the point.  I am more than capable of being serious and having no sense of humor (like in this paragraph).  I'm forced to wonder if you would be just another person to write Kaufman, Pryor, or Green off as buffoonish so quickly.  I may be anonymous to you but the features are well aware of who I am (or so I am told).

And another thing,  Luke, you still owe me dinner.  Seeing as how you squirmed out of that deal, I think you teeter on the edge of being a cheapskate.

I think you are foolish to jump to conclusions, but otherwise, I like you roadie.  You will not be on my irrelevant list.

why does public accessibility always gotta get brought up when people talk about music? fuck accessibility. if someone is gonna be all concerned with making music that everyone likes and 'gets' well then they can go be ryan adams. give me, instead, someone who created something because they couldn't stand not to, because it wrecks them and they're willing to try and let it wreck me.
as for mr. eno's approach...i happen to give every kind of a piss about scores of the bands that he's endorsed, but even where i disagree, i'll back an unyielding opinion over a mealy 'all music is inherently good' stance anyday.

Freezetag and Neuboy, we've been over this - all music *is* inherantly good.

I tied a skillet to my cat's tail and it went around the house banging everything. I recorded it and it's good.

Yes it is good, indeed. But whether or not you or I like it is a matter of personal preference. I have met people who like stranger shit.

Yeah, yeah, whatever. I really was unaware that Self is so unpopular among Features fans.
