i agree with you about thursday... and very much so.

my vote has to be for god save rock and roll though. i really should be sick of this song, but i'm not. it rocks me every time.
i also *heart* oh my love, armani suede, exorcising demons, walk you home... ech, there are a lot more than that; it's too late to do extensive thinking.

oh and thursday's charm has more than worn off. that is usually the time a spend pisssing or getting another newcastle (good lord, it's 10:30 am and i'm thinking lovely thoughts about god's brown elixer of love) or both if i have time.

Most of the time, I also am sick of Thursday.  I do think it's rediculous that they play it near the end of EVERY SINGLE show.  However, every once in a while, Thursday 'hits me' again.  Like this last show in Knoxville, it was just the perfect closer, very climatic, and a perfect ending to a perfect show.  But just think how effective that song could be if it was a rare special treat.  From sources close to the band, however, I don't think that they will ever abstain from playing it.  It's like a 'ritual' for them.

I really enjoy Walk You Home, but it truly has lost some of its luster since it was called 'Mexican Gatorade.' Nothing has changed, yet it is so different.

My live picks would be:
Action
GSRnR
Oh My Love
Exorcising Demons
Circus

My pee song is probably 2X2. The major scale makes me dizzy. I agree that Thursday is overplayed, but it is fun to watch the uninitiated (like those at the JMB New Year's show) begin to 'get' The Features when they play it.

One more thing- their 'Heard it Through the Grapevine' cover is underrated.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

I like

See You Through
a new one whose name I don't know
Stay Together
33 1/3
Action

the classics:
Jurley
Your Smile

and of course, Heard It Through the Grapevine.

I usually pee during Kari Anne, and I am very tired of Psycho Killer. I think I'd like Thursday better as a rare treat.

i really love 2X2 cause of the words...
33 1/3 is awesome. matt is so fun when he sings it.
see you through is fun, everyone just admit it...
i have a ? what is the one that matt sings and it is about his wife, and love, and something like love will get us through this or something. i dont know. i've only heard it once, at the knoxville show. does anyone know? i feel stupid, cause i should know more of it, but i honestly just don't...!
maybe i could sing along

What's that one Features song that is like, up-tempo. I think it's about babies or something and Rollum really rocks out and Roger plays a funky bass line? I think they've played it at The Boro. What was that one called? Oh, and sometimes Matt breaks a string when they play it.

the features-america's favorite feel-good rock and roll band.
my favorite two and a half measures of features time is right after the bridge of oh my love when everyone drops out except for matt playing and singing 'ooooohhhhhhhhh, ma' love' then blap rollum kicks everything back in. quite genius.
oh and i forgot how much i love see you through. parrish and roger's moog and bass combo melody during the intro/prechorus gets me every time.

I have to disagree with you there Lawnboy. I find the frenetic bridge of OhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhMyLove to be one of the best moments of Features music. Very Roxy Music. I always thought the bit after was a bit anticlimactic after such mastery.

I can't just pick one favorite live song. I love them all. The Features are the best live band I've ever seen. I do have to say though, that I'm partial to 'God Save...' and 'Leave it all Behind' Oh! 'Dark Room' is a great one as well.

They do a who song imbecile. No, sorry I'm being mean. They do 'i'm a boy'. I think they should cover the who's entire studio collection in concert. Wait, they shouldn't do 'face dances' or 'it's hard' because of that irrelevant twit Kenney Jones. What a waste of carbon.

neuboy, have you ever heard 'Who's Next'?  Although I do love the early mod stuff, I think that 'Who's Next' is my favorite Who album.  I'm not sure that the Features covering any of the songs on that album would be a good idea, though.

If neuboy and lawnwrangler were a WWF tag team, that would be their theme music.  That or the theme music from 'The Dukes of Hazzard.'

Classic rock vs. Mod?  I love 'em both, though probably I like a higher percentage of Mod that I've heard.  Alot of classic rock is shite.  If we're considering entire catalogs here, though, I'll take Led Zeppelin's catalog over any mod band's catalog, hands down.

I'm reminded of that classic Ringo quip-

Reporter:  Are you a mod or a rocker?

Ringo: I'm a mocker.
