TOPIC: Features Acoustic Songs

I was just wondering, if The Features were ever to do an acoustic set (such as Unplugged), what songs would you like to hear? Obviously, it's best to choose songs with a quieter dynamic, and keep in mind that Parrish would probably have to use a real piano (so heavily Moog-based tracks like Your Smile would probably sound a little awkward...think about it). I'd like to hear...

Anti-Gravity Class of '93
The Idea of Growing Old
Hey, Lou
Standing By (of course entirely impossible, but thinking about it, I think a more subdued version of this song would be very pretty)

That's all I can think of for now. I'll get back to this later...was just interested what others might come up with.

A heart-felt, slow acoustic version of "Bring on the Night" would be great.

I completely forgot that song even existed! Why don't they play it more? Nonetheless, it would still be great acoustic.

Actually, I did think about it and I think that's one of the songs I'd most like to hear. I think if they did a show like this, it would be most interesting if they did something like this. Yeah, they could do Bumblebee because it just makes sense, but it wouldn't really be a different interpretation.

Someway, Somehow would be killer.

You can play an electric guitar song on an acoustic and have it sound alright, but I dunno if Parrish's parts would sound right on a real piano. Some of the key parts are, shall we say, fonky...

I was thinking the same exact thing! Maybe if Parrish ever gets sick the night of a show, we can have our little acoustic set. It would be an event that would definitely give the request show a run for its money.

And it wasn't 2x2 that I meant to suggest (although it would be good). I was really thinking Starkwhite Stork Approaching- My brain mixes them up sometimes. . .

Apparently they did in England.

I heard a few of these acoustic songs. matt sang twimtb blues style. who can forget how rollum sang kari-anne? (i can't remember what video this is on, but it is somewhere on the site. I will let the members that know what they are doing find it) I enjoyed the accent.
I think I have heard leave it all behind acoustic and slow. hmmmm...my memory fails me...

...oh yes! How could I forget??? Exhibit A!! VERY cool

If I had an ounce of musical ability, I'd start a band that played acoustic versions of different songs by Middle Tennesse bands.

Can Parrish play the piano? Would his keyboard skills translate over to a regular piano or are they played completely differently?

Yeah, I guess I was just thinking of a song that already lends itself to that sort of thing, probably not the point of the thread.

I often miss the point, so no surprise there.

Acoustic songs of middle TN bands - interesting idea.

As a pianist, I, too, have often wondered how Parrish would sound on a piano. I've played at plunking out some Features tunes on my piano, but they just don't sound quite right.

I need to start playing piano again, I am once again reminded.

I recently went through the lyrics/tabs section and printed out all of the chords for songs that were on there. I've been strumming them on guitar just for fun, but they really don't sound right unless you change the rhythms around a lot and eliminate a bunch of the stuff that makes them cool.

Incidentally, I can play guitar but I suck at playing by ear. If anyone has any tabs or chords (for features songs) that aren't up there, put em up.
