Hey everyone, i know the features are playing exit/in on the 26th but we are having a benefit show at lipscomb university in nashville on the 24th of april. we set this up a long time ago not knowing that they were playing that friday as well. i know most people will come to the 26th show, and you should. it's going to be great. if any of you are from around nashville and would like a features appetizer on wednesday night, which is a rare occurrence, we would love to have you. it's going to be a great show to benefit a group on campus that works with the homeless in nashville and so any support would be appreciated. besides that, we would love to pack the theater and give the features a crowd they woudl deserve. i know last show on campus wasn't so big, but it was bid nite for a bunch of clubs and junk and so the crowd was a little small but it woudl be great to have everyone come to this show too. it's gonna be $5 but we can make it $4 for messageboarders or something. anything i can do to get more people to come. we have an opener, undercurrent, who are really awesome. the lead singer sounds a lot like jeff buckley and they are just a really good band. so anyone from around nashville, or any of you in k-town or atlanta or memphis or anywhere who want to make a weekend of it, come on up to lipscomb and support your features. i'm really excited about the show and i promise they will play longer than the last boro show. = ) anyway, hope you guys will consider coming out twice that week. show them the love. sorry for the long message, but i really want people to come!

so do the homeless get to enjoy this features show? if you really want to help the homeless you should let them hear the features - don't just give them money to buy booze let them drink booze and enjoy the features - but if you rarely allow jews you probably won't allow the homeless to lipscomb campus

the show is at 8:00.... it's gonna be a long one. anyway, about the homeless benefit... there is a group on campus here that works with the homeless. they go down every single night of the week and meet with people who they are also starting to work with to get help. they are really working to get people off the streets and building real relationships with them, not just giving a handout. we are trying to raise money so that they can do that more efficiently. the poeple really dedicated to workign with the group spend a lot of their own money getting food, and time cooking and going to a church downtown which has someone there at all times so that the people they work with can come stay there. they set them up with people to help them get jobs and stay off the streets. some of the people they have worked with come and take classes here on campus and have gotten jobs. it is really showing a lot on how much they are doing to help, but they just don't have hardly any money to keep it running. we want to help them. anyway, anyone is welcome. it really will be great. come on out and see.

I think Wednesday night is the only night of the week I haven't seen the Features, though I'm not sure about Monday or Tuesday. For an obsessive fan's sense of completeness, is this alone not reason enough to attend this show?

Awesome. The Features rock people to their knees, yet take the time for benevolent activities as well - a rarity these days. Good job on getting the Features, Featuresgirl!!!

Maybe they could do like Soundgarden and get a homeless guy to play the spoons for them.

I bet a song like Keri Anne would sound kind of cool a capella with some layered harmonies.

yeah, i'm almost positive they will go on at 9:30-10 but i wish you would come out and see undercurrent, they will be playing around 8:45.... they are pretty good. anyway, who knows that they are coming? we have had a bunch of crap from our school's SGA on giving us money to pay the features so that all the proceeds can go to charity, they are a bunch of morons. a girl from my school (with the worst taste ever) told everyone at the meeting that she has been to the boro, etc. and that the features play for like 30 people. anyway, she's a moron, everyone knows it's not true. and i want to prove her wrong. so everyone come! it will be great. what else would you do on a wednesday night? bring your friends, they'll thank you for it = )

That's interesting. Is there a certain dollar amount that the committee (or whatever it's referred to) can't go over, or was her arguement, 'I saw the Features play in front of a sparse crowd once so I don't think it's justified spending X amount of money on them.' Everyband that has ever existed has played in front of puny crowds at some time or another. Maybe she should look at some recent attendance figures from 12th and Porter, Slow Bar, etc. and realize that the Features are a quite the solid investment who will bring in the folks and deliver the rock unequivically.

The Features have been solidly packing the Boro now for about three years. Maybe she's thinking of another band, getting them confused with Ash Monday or Lucky Guns or somebody.

This problem with the DLU SGA will all be solved after the Features set on Wednesday. I love to watch the faces of people who've never heard them before as they realize how cool the band is. It's sort of a gradual smile thing...I don't know, it's cool and I'm planning on watching it take place at this benefit show.

thanks for all the support. i just hope this means you are all going to come. i am really excited about the show. yeah, i think the fact that we're putting it on with or without their help will piss them off and make them think twice about it. we'll find out monday if they're gonan give me money. another problem with the DLU SGA is lyrics, like they have to see them all in order to sign a release. it's the stupidest thing ever, ESPECIALLY since they have played here before. but its the rules. i was wondering if anyone already has them typed out or anything for own personal use that they could email me so i could use them to take monday? does anyone have all of them, or just a lot, that they could send me? it's not like the administration is going to even come adn see if they play what ip ut in. AND it's not like anything is questionable, i jsut don't have time this weekend, with putting the rest of the show together, to sit down and type it all out.. if anyone has or would be willing to do that by say sunday night i woudl greatly appreciate it. i'll let you in free or something, i just don't want one more thing to think about.......... thanks.

and oh yes, she's just a retard. in the meeting, if she says one thing to me about them not being packed and them being bad, i'm going to say 'how do you know? if you hate them so much and they suck so bad, why have you even gone.. and if i go to every single show, why haven't i seen you there?' she worships feable weiner, and even their lead singer comes to a ton of features shows. they know who's boss. she will just have to find out.

That's a lot of lyrics to ask for.
My suggestion to you would be to call Matt Pelham.  He wrote the songs, and he might have the lyrics already written down that he could just photocopy and send to you.  If you get into fans trying to write down lyrics, I think you could run into problems, because alot of the songs are not even recorded.

Just my $0.02...

speaking of lyrics, featuresgirl, and feable weiner.....................well,

feable weiner really suck in that dept.
just remember kids, one too many whoa-oohs are cop-outs for good lyrics and too many songs about girls make you either weezer or a loser.

it seriously is my pleasure, i love doing stuff like this.. but it's so stressful when people just don't recognize good music.  it makes me want to shake them. but alas, they're stupid. i can't wait to see it. just want everyone to know that they may go on as early as 9:20 depending on undercurrent's set. but if you can make it to see them, it will be worth it. i guarantee.

No, I should have said that before. It's in our theater which is in our student center. Our campus is not very big, so it shouldn't be hard to find. The student center and a couple other buildings face each other in the square and it has big columns (but not the one with a ton of stairs) and it has an addition on the back that is the theater it is in.
