I am kind of surprised to see this update, and I must say I'm a little skeptical that it will be regularly updated. I am still welcoming it with open arms, however!!

Maybe this will all tie in to F.I.S.T. somehow dry.gif Good to hear about the new Christmas song, but isn't Christmas this Sunday?!?!? I hate to be critical about new stuff, but didn't the same thing happen last year with "Father Christmas" ?

It only frusterates me because I care.

Thanks for the heads-up, krisan. I don't even check the main page that often. I added the information under the "website news" post-only forum. It needed an update for sure.

Seriously. I'm mean, of course I'm buying it 'cos it's the Features, but if you can't have it out *at least* a week or two before Christmas, what's the point?

Anything to keep Blue from having the #1 Christmas record! Matt Pelham even promised to dance naked on national TV if their record is #1 on Christmas.

Two observations:

1) After a month in existence, the blog hasn't been updated once. I guess not much is going on in Featuresland these days.

2) I think a lot of people coming to this messageboard to post are being hijacked by the blog and posting their comments there instead.

I second that.

And I've thought the same exact things Carl. Can anyone who's been around here for a considerable amount of time honestly say they're surprised? The potential for greatness when things are done right around here is what pisses me of when Christmas songs are released after Christmas, when blogs are created but never updated, when merchandise is never sent out, when grand ideas are developed but not implemented, or when something cool is forgotten about.

Whoever brought up FIST hit the nail on the head. That thing had potential, even had a platform, but nothing was ever done with it... How many free things were ever given away to the fans that promoted the band?

I know this is like beating a dead horse, and this will be my last critical post (at least for a while). Let me just say that the music The Features make is enough to keep me happy. There could be no updates, no merchandise, no management, no website, and I would still be perfectly happy that I was able to listen to this amazing band. That being said, these other components do exist and they should be managed correctly.

I'd be happy if I was still seeing them at the Boro in front of 50 people. I know that isn't ideal for them, and I'm not saying I wish that on them, but I just see all the extra stuff as extra. But I'm sure it's more frustrating to fledgling fans who don't get to see them several times per year.

oh, i think they are actually going to be updating this thing now! check it out:

"New Shirts, New Music & Other Goodies…
January 19th, 2006

So, it’s been one month since the initial post and thought it high time to write something before the lynch mob surfaces. Do I have any late breaking news…no. What I do have is t-shirts on the blog site for easier purchasing. But wait that is not all. If you have been wondering what Rollum has been doing on his down time, next Thursday (do you see a a pattern starting) will be his first post with pictures.

We also figured we should let you guys hear some of the songs we are working on. So next week there will be a glimpse of what is to come on the next record. Yes, that means brand spanking new never before heard demo recordings.

Tomorrow night at Tucker Theatre at MTSU we will play more new material and the new vinyl will be available for sale. Saturday Matt and Parrish are performing at Grand Palace in Murfreesboro with Apollo Up and The Mattoid. Till next week….

Shirts are $15 USD. Non US-Residents must contact us before placing an order. The color print Exhibit A is available in Mens Small only."

demos, photos, rollum posts...this is sounding pretty nice...

New Shows
January 30th, 2006

So we are playing a couple shows in the upcoming months. We only have two to tell you about now, but hopefully there will be a lot more coming soon. The first is February 18 at the Mercy Lounge with How I Became The Bomb. The second is March 9 at Blue Cats in Knoxville, TN where we will be supporting The Walkmen.
