TOPIC: Features in Orange County Weekly

My best friend sells ads for the Orange County Weekly (Orange County's equivalent to the Nashville Scene; in fact, they're owned by the same parent company). She informed me that The Features are mentioned in the magazine's South by Southwest cover story. I believe this was written by the music editor, who saw the guys once before when they played in L.A.

See below or go to: http://www.ocweekly.com/ink/03/29/cover.php

EIGHT BANDS FOR WHOM WE’D GUARANTEE FAVORABLE PRESS COVERAGE IF THEY EVER PLAY ORANGE COUNTY

7. Tennessee’s Features aren’t supposed to be the Weezer-y power-pop that their producers are going to try to turn them into: they’ve got the best growly guitar hooks this side of the first Buzzcocks album, the cute-’n’-cuddly sweater-boy charm of Blur at their sappiest, and the deceptively intricate songwriting skills of the Beatles before they turned into annoying hippies. The whole world should have a crush on this band; the line starts right behind us.

I know I've got a crush on this band. And, I agree that the rest of the world should too, for all the right reasons.

I don't think, given the times and news of the hour, that army is a good word to use. An official fan club or an otherwise organized group of Features fans from all over the nation would be preferred.

what about a cult? would that be more acceptable?

and good for the features. they deserve all the praise they get. some of that write-up did seem a little odd though...

An official fan club
that would be a very good idea.

Far in the wake of Waco and Heaven's Gate, a cult would be fine. However, I think this mysterious Daigletology may quell any attempts at a Features cult.

I mentioned an official fan club, but there should not be one while they are still more or less a "local" band.
