TOPIC: Features on eBay

Someone, who supposedly lives in California, is selling a copy of the Beginning on eBay. This is fine and all, but they compare the Features to Bright Eyes. While I have not listened to any more than one or two Bright Eyes songs in my life, is it fair to compare the two? I have always heard of Bright Eyes being emo and whiny. Am I wrong? Correct me and explain, please.

The Features sound nothing like Bright Eyes. I like bright eyes, but there is no way to make a comparison between the two. What's the link to this ebay auction? I'd like to see/watch it.

If you like Bright Eyes, then you should like this band and if you don't, then you're wierd.
ok... uh.. yes, anyone who disagrees with someone's musical taste is automatically weird.

You're also weird if you spell weird wrong.

Also remember that a Californian may have only seen the band a couple of times. Their understanding of the band is limited to the 5 songs on the EP, which is open to remind people of many things since it is such a small sample (and two of the songs are quite unrepresentative of the live show).

It is also quite likely that someone who orders an extra copy at least occasionally reads this board, and discretion should be used.

At least they may learn something. But yes, it's probably a good idea to remember that we know more than the average man, when it comes to the Features.

i see what you mean, but he didn't even take the time to spellcheck his auction. If he thinks that Bright Eyes and The Features are similiar, that's his perogative, but i feel like i can rag on him a little bit. I don't think we've said anything too harsh anyway.

I thought I'd say something before it had even the chance to get "out of hand."

This is true, we don't need too much policing on here. I doubt this conversation would have gone much further than correcting his/her grammar. But, if one thing is true about this board, it's that things can get blown out of proportion in a hurry.

Around the time that The Beginning came out, it was said in an article in some local publication that the Features sounded like Neutral Milk Hotel. I thought that that was a rediculous comparison, too.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Apparently there is another band named the Features too. Someone from Tokyo was selling a Features 7inch but it was another band.
You're so fucking money you don't even know it
