Ok, so digsyslattery and I were going to cat's music earlier today so he can pick up the new weezer ep, when we both see the new features poster promoting the boro show. I would just like to say that I think that the newest poster is the cutest poster that I have ever seen in my entire life. the posters make me love the band even more than i already do.The Features always have amazing posters.they always exemplify what the band is about. Whoever comes up with the designs for the posters is a genius. a fucking genius.

I propose that ,if there is any way possible, that the old features promotional posters should be downloadable from the photos section of the site. i think it would be cool to see all of the other posters in a downloadable form. just a thought...

I agree with you completely, Ray. I am always amazed at the cuteness of the posters. The new one is adorable. I highly respect the person who designs them. Devoting a subsection to them in the photo section is a good idea, in my opinion.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

I'm just curious as to why this new batch of posters isn't as prominent as the last Boro's shows "fashion women" posters. I saw them everywhere and so far I've only seen 3 of the current "photographer" posters. But yes, I must agree that whoever designs the posters is doing an awesome job. I think the album art work should be in the same vein as these promo posters.

i disappeared for awhile because i got a new job, though i've still been reading here and there. unfortunately i actually have to "work" at the new job, so less internet-browsing time for me.
it appears as if the exlion has gone the way of old brianeno2 and neuboy.

So are you not going to be selling me anymore CDs? Ah well...I'm glad to see that the posters are finally all over the MTSU campus. Unfortunately the rain has washed away all our chalkings (as well as the 'competition' Against The Grain's) but I think that the campus is well aware. I'm so excited about Thursday. blink.gif smile.gif

Hatch Show Prints are indeed very, very cool. It would only make sense to use them to promote THE coolest band in the Middle Tennessee area (and well beyond).

No, I think they work/ed at a screen print place in M-Boro. Hatch Show Print rules- they're doing my wedding invitations. I hope they'll make extra BOF/Features posters & sell them at their shop.

Does anyone collect Features posters of old?? Does anyone have anything cool?

They were doing lots of cool b-movie posters when they started the film projection shows. I have none from that era, but I have a neat one or two.

I have the one for the Aug. 22 show which is blue and has 5 girls on it from a 1970s pattern aaaand the most recent photographer one on white.

The old movie-poster ones sound insanely cool.

They made one GIANT one that they used for a few shows. The guy at Sebastians wouldn't let me have it though. Do any of you know its fate?

I have passed up several others, not thinking about wanting them later. A friend of mine has a very simple one from when they played with Reel Big Fish at Mainstreet. I've got a neat one when they played with Fl Oz (who always had very interesting posters.

The giant posters amaze me with their greatness. I know there were two under Peck Hall at MTSU and they both had disappeared by Thursday night. I know some hardcore Features fans that had their eyes on those for Friday morning...whoever got those two awesome posters better appreciate them.

I have a bunch of the paper ones from the past 2 years- the only especially cool one is the one with the jack in the box- I think it was from an Average White Band album cover or something? A friend bought also me a poster from Hatch that was for a Halloween show w/ The Features, Self, & the Katies. Maybe in 1999? Was anyone actually at that show?

It was indeed in 99 and I was there. It rocked. They did not dress up in any way for it, which disappointed me. They DID, however, play "Like A Virgin" that night, and it was a great cover. I don't know if they've played it at any other time. I was hoping that a sound board recording was made of that show as there was for the Katies and Self that night (both of which were released through the Spongebath website), but no Features recording ever surfaced. I don't remember seeing posters for it.

The last time I went to the Hatch store (August), there was another print of the poster. I almost bought it just to keep it "in the family" but it seemed silly to have 2. Maybe it's still there?

I was at the one in '99 (at Main Street in M'boro). That was off the hook. I heard that the Features were going to each dress as dead musicians (Matt=Buddy Holly, Rollum=Keith Moon, Parrish=Liberace, Roger=I forgot). But alas there were no costumes. It was still awesome.

The Halloween '98 show was fun, too. It was Self/FlOz/Features. That was my first time to see the Ounces. Everyone was in costume that year. The Features actually played after Self that year. That could have been my first Features show, but I left after Self.

BTW, 'Like a Virgin' was played a few other times. I specifically remember once at the Boro.

Had I been there, my soul would have been torn apart by sheer entropy.

As it happened, the time I nearly saw the Features for the first time would have been the same lineup... DitD 97 or 98. Drove like a maniac (reaching 120 mph at one point) from Chattanooga so that we'd catch the Features at 7, and they had started at 6. Or some similar "we missed them by one hour because we were misinformed" bullshit.

Actually, I'm quite sure it was DitD 98. Saw Self and FlOz, bought my "Sun Design" Features shirt (worn most recently to Coldplay last week), bought the Soaking in the Center of the Universe compilations, but missed the Features, the band I most wanted to see. Didn't see them until DitD 2002, if you recall. What a 4 year hiatus!
